Just a very early heads up, that due to timing of the season in 2010 for regular rounds that the 2010 National Finals will be in October 2010. This is next year's finals guys.
This event will also include National Finals for MEASPL as well as MEASQ.

The location, tentatively at this stage will be within 8 hours of Brisbane.

The only excuse for passive crossovers is their low cost. Their behavior changes with the signal level dependent dynamics of the drivers. They block the power amplifier from taking maximum control over the voice coil motion. They are a waste of time, if accuracy of reproduction is the goal.

I have driven 5200+ k's in the last two years to get to national finals and am looking at another 3400k's this year. I dont think its too much to ask to have it a bit closer to Brisbane.

In all honesty 8 or 14 hours doesnt make too much difference as its still a full day of driving....something like 5 or 6 would be much more sociable.

Just my thoughts and ill still probably be there regardless

But, similarly Riley, in all fairness, it's a question of numbers. I'd rather have 3-4 competitors drive 1500kms than 25 drive more than 800kms (or similar).
You know what I mean as we have had this conversation a few times. The rest of us are willing to support QLD and make the effort if QLD does the same. This season is obviously nothing to go by, so let's just hope for good competitor numbers in 2010. After all, this is a whole year away yet.

i totally understand

at the moment we really dont have any hard core competitors (or possibly lunatics) who are willing to drive that far and hope that what we think is good up here is the same thing that is going to be getting judged at nationals. add to that the fact that we havent had much chance to improve our systems under judging conditions and its pretty easy to see why people wouldnt want to drive over 2000k

so at the moment we arent getting even 3 or 4 competitors who are even entertaining the idea of traveling that far - hence the location this year - again i fully understand this decision. So i guess we need to make it a more attractive option to get people interested in traveling that long distance

as i said ill most likely be there anyway but where ever it is i would like to be bringing a few people with me cos i really dont want to drive that far every year by myself.......not really that excited about doing 1300k's each way by myself this year but im going to do it
