- Track 8 "Fever" of Chesky 10 - There is some really low sound/information on there. Does anyone know what it is or whats is supposed to be? My home reference system doesn't have the very low end that my IB 18" in the car does hence I don't have anything to compare by. This is a very low(freq) sound and kinda undefinable... by feel/ear, but is certainly there. Im either not reproducing it well enough or I'm not learned enough to pick out what instrument/sound it is.
I didn't get a chance to listen to this track at Len Wallis so I'm a little dumb found to exactly what low stuff is. It's not a drum/percussion, but something with body/sustain, so don't know if its a reverberation of the bass body or what.
Just had a listen in the car and I get finger clicks to the left, percusion at the back in centre with vocals and piano right in front and a double bass near the back and to the right.
I reckon it's the double bass because there's nothing else down low there happening.
And I don't appear to have spectral balance issues in using an HX-D2 at various volumes. Most action is between -25db and -8dB.

Yeah, I've had a few seasoned ears have a listen and they all agree there's definitely something very low down there.
Its so low it actually shakes my car and feels like a strong wind is buffeting the car... gotta love the down low responce of an 18".

Q: How do you know if you're too drunk to drive? A: You swerve to miss a tree then realise it's the air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror.
Albert Einstein: (you think he was thinking about the I.C.E. industry when he said the following?)
-We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.
-Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe.
-Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
