I really look forward to the Nationals every year just to get away with the great bunch of people that make MEA what it is!
A huge that you to Dan (Broadz) for organizing the accommodation and the venue for the comp.
The Motel was great ... having the whole place booked out meant we could be up into the wee hours of
the morning without disturbing anyone. (other than fudd who had a rude awakening on the Saturday night)
The motel location was perfect ... everything was within easy walking distance so the only time the car was needed was to get to the comp venue!
And going to the movies last night was also a treat ... who would have thought Lakes Entrance would have a movie theater!
Thanks to all the competitors who made the trek to Lakes ... especially to Riley the one and only banana bender to venture south!
Great to catch up with all the Sydney & Canberra crowd again ... Rick (mad89), Chris (syd-monster), Matty (Matt_Vip), Warren (Wazzab4), James (2loud_2old) (he may be loud but he's not old!) and of course Riley ... shame we only get to catch up once a year.
Congratulations to all the winners and place getters!
Simon ... well done and deserved on your win in Expert class!
Now that you have won the big one ... Carolyn will be wanting her garage done as promised! ... LOL
Congrats to Bernard for taking the gold in Intermediate class ... from all reports your car is sounding very sweet and a well deserved victory.
Commiserations to Matty VIP on loosing out to Adam for second place on a countback ... I know how you feel!!
Congratulations to Adam (spyne) on being the recipient the Ainslee Duff Memorial Award for 2009 ... very well deserved mate!
Also congratulations to Marc on the "Over & Above" award ... sometimes we forget / take for granted the effort this guy puts into MEA ... and we forget that without him, his drive and his enthusiasm MEA would simply not exist.
Marc ... from all of us ... Thank You!!!
On a personal note I was chuffed at my result ... placing 3rd after a close double countback for second with shiny_car was more than I expected.
Richard ... thank you for letting me have a listen to your system ... it really does sound sweet now that you have had the time to tweak it.
Thanks to Riley/Danny for organizing the BBQ on Saturday night ... and Dan & Damo for the quick trip to the supermarket for some additional snags & bread so we wouldn't run out.
Fudd & Kirk ... such dedication to the cause to see you guys come up just for booze and a good time (and perhaps to dry hump addikt)
Though fudd ... the cynics are saying you came to show us how to party ... then had an early night ... and are suggesting a name change from fudd to dudd ... that's way harsh I feel!!

Also, thanks to those who have listened to my car and given me feedback. This final was the last show for the Euro, and it is now for sale. Toyota Echo will be a replacement car for next year's competition.

I don't know what was the high point for me
What about pissing on your phone, then it not accepting your SIM card anymore, then having your way with the Ford Laser in the carpark, and headbutting the large bush next to the stairs?

turns out all of my tyres were completely shagged and i dont think they would have made it to sydney so i changed them in canberra today
it ended up raining for about 6 hours all up.....which resulted in alot of nice little pools of water on the road which due to a combination of the sun, rain and colour of the road made them impossible to see so i spent a hell of alot of time just holding on for the ride - even with brand new tyres
then it finally stopped raining around 7pm but i still wasnt out of the woods. some clown in a truck decided he wanted to drive in my lane so i was pretty much crapting myself looking at the headlights of a semi with nowhere to go execpt into alot of trees.......luckily he saw what was happening and got the f*** out of my way
then i thought i was almost home but it turns out that someone in charge of all the roadworks thought i should do the best part of 60k's at 40 and 60kph.....
but after all that i am home now.....looking forward to crawling into bed

Besides, he wants to compete in 2010.. if it was built in Indo, he wouldn't be competing until 2011!Nah, not importing car from Indo, Its too expensive to do it, maybe one day.
Congrats to the winners.. all well deserved.
Thanks to Broadz for all his organizational efforts.. the hotel was great and he even managed to have a warm and sunny day for the competition!
