Yeah only problem is i think i would destoy anywoofer, even 95's the only difference is they are a lot more expensive to fix :( But i do think your correct, its time to get serious

95's are very hard to kill with clean power. Trust me, I have tried :)

Now that is what i like to hear :D Respect...

I think we need some photos of the SPL tuning right?

Ok so here we go, started with a long port then cut it down 20mm at a time, each time we cut we burped from 49 up to 53 or 54Hz recording each time, burps were rolled up becasue we found this to be louder. Once we found the loudest tuning we started to play around with some bricks (slate to be exact) inside the box, the final result was a very high tuning of around 60Hz in 2.something cubes. In hindsight we should have played with box volume first then port tuning but i guess it was all a bit of a learning experience for me :good:

Its interesting that tuning was so much higher than the peak, i really can explain that but it is what was loudest in the car :unknw:

SPL, it has to have duck tape and look ghetto... Reminds me of Big Vals instals :P

I see why you keep killing subs. Nowhere NEAR enough duct tape.

If you get 95's with a composite cone, I don't see why you couldn't run 4-5Kwrms to them daily.

There's a different between box peak and peak car res. We found the note at which the box peaks - for this box and sub combo, it would seem that there's a large peak in output below tuning.

The major gain would come from building a box that will peak at the res freq of the car...

Wanky uninstalled gear that I need to install in my 200sx this year:

Front Amplifier: Digital Designs S4a

Subs: 2 x Hybrid Digital Designs/PSi 99F series

Sub Amp: Digital Designs M2a

Work on the dual box starts tomorrow, 4 cubes net made from 25mm with a double 18 baffle, tuning will be ? With a PSP 6 aero, i will be trying lots of different things this time inclusing rounded corners inside the box and the port will be recesed into the front baffle as DG Phil suggested in the project loud sedan thread :good:

Today i took out both subs (hammer time due to the silicone) and cleaned them up, one has death rattle, although it looks fine i think the coil has started to unwind in the gap which is what happened with one of my 512a's :( Anyway let the fun continue, i would LOVE to see 146/147 from these subs in a sedan on 1500 watts, maybe i can even look at getting a street stock score with a different amplifier

Probably a good time to thank Keith at Digital Designs for all the help and for making this happen :good:

This is a thread bump but i just looked through this and realised that a score was never posted :shok:

Power was roughly 700 watts and the final number was 144.2, we could not back this up and i didn't get a photo but we did manage to reproduce 144.1

These things were so much fun and so cheap as well, its a real pity that DD is no longer available here in Australia.
