Alpine 502e and H701 is my pick i had one worked well only sold it becasue my new car in single din.
Get the optical cable get read of a lot of nosie.

Do you want external processor? Or all in the double din unit? Navigation?

Alpine 502 would be the best if you add the H701, navigation unit, bluetooth, ipod cable etc.

If you want all in one I'd get the Eclipse unit before they stop making them.

yeah double din dvd and SQ dont really go together as such although the Alpine 502 + h100 or h701 (if you can find one) is a pretty decent combo

im not sure if any unit will be that good for SQ out of the box

It's not for me, a mate of mine came up to me and said he wants a SQ system, not worried to much about price try to keep it under the $8000 mark, and has to have dvd deck, what about a 502 with a bit one???

i have no idea......it would come down to a comparison between the Bitone and the H701

i know the 701 would win hands down for functionality with the 502

If he wants a double din alpine dvd then get the H701 with it.
If he wants the Bitone.1 then get a car pc with touchscreen. will have full control over the bitone.1 plus nav,dvd,hdd storage etc. Bit more fiddly but would be better in the long run.

we dont get Audison in NZ
sounds quite interesting to have it work with a PC
