curious to hear from those using the BitOne, and whether it's living up to a lot of the hype. on paper it looks really good, and i like the cosmetics, and i've been an audison fanboy for a while.

if i needed a stand-alone processor, i think it'd be my first choice.

are the noise issues fixed? and is the SQ as good as you'd expect?

:)

I too would like to hear what others think, I'm installing one in a customers car in the coming weeks and I am quite excited to have somebody who's happy to put their sq car in the hands of a spl guy to play with... Once the tuning has started I'm guessing that excitement will pass and frustration will set in...

from what i hear, audiocontrol is considered low-tech these days. the RF 3sixty is clunky. and perhaps the upcoming JBL MS-8 will be good.

for now, the B1 seems the best option (i don't know much about the Berhinger gear). except for Alpine uses where one of the older PXA processor will 'integrate' better with the HU.

it'll be interesting to see how many crop up in the competition scene.

Go the PG Bass CUBE :P

Well, there's one guys on here that has a BitOne. Tried to sell it, but changed his mind the next day. So, might be worth asking him what he thought of it.

Pretty sure Marty at FHRX uses the BitOne in one of his cars...or has experience with them either way....As does Mark from Frankston Car Audio...

I believe the noise issues were fixed a while ago...so it should b pretty decent...

Marty has installed plenty of these and has sold out of them more than once since they were released. I've had a listen to Marty's car since he added the Eclipse 7200 and BitOne and it's bloody sensational, sounds a bit more accurate and staging has improved from his previous setup.

The main thing to note though, is that the BitOne allows for several EQ settings to be stored, and Marty has one which is completely un-equalized. The difference between that and his primary EQ setting is phenomonal.

Yes we certainly have churned through plenty of them here. Now I’m not about to start harping on about how they perform; I'd rather let the heap of satisfied customers do that. Nor will I carry on about what they actually do as you can read about it here.

However we do find explaining to people the somewhat intricate ins and outs of what they do and how they function is not always easy (especially where language barriers are concerned), so we often resort to demonstrating them to prospective buyers by actually inserting one into their existing system. Once we show people the difference they make to their own sound system rather than just talking about it, I’m yet to have someone ask us to take it back out again. :D

After using a UCS Pro for years I found the fact you couldn't just 'change' the settings on the fly a bit annoying... Generally once you set it up, it's right to go, but occasionally you want more bass, or a bit less treble, etc and not being able to adjust it was quite annoying!

The best way to alleviate this is by having a head unit that you can adjust... But for now i'm going to go the Pioneer D7RII and a RS-P70x processor in the hope to get the quality and adjustment! Granted this is not a stand alone processor setup as such!

Rich, the vast majority of BitOne owners are more than happy, but also the vast don't make full use of it; much like many hi-end product owners.
The updates units have rectified the first series noise issues any new one you buy one will be such.
However there is some compatibility issues on the digital input side of things. Not all digital is the same as not all h/u's put out the same style of 0 & 1's. Im not smart enough to know why! Something to do with some brands of H/U's use a pty ltd style output that doesn't like to mary so well with the BitOne, this is NO fault of the BitOne, more of each manufacturer covering themselves and protecting their brand as much as possible.

BUT all that is important is the Analogue side works absolutely brilliantly. DIY's like ourselves need to know how to use and learn to harness what it can bring you. Because like any tool..... its only as good as the man behind it.
My only gripe is the remote controller... you will see what I mean once you get into one, although its only a minor one. For the money, this is the best option we have in our mobile market!! I would buy one if I could afford to!

cool. :)

the latest i've heard is that you 'must' have the BitOne installed and setup by an authorised retailer. i believe this is meant to go some way towards avoiding many of the issues faced by people who have had inadequate experience in running these things (ie: people would buy them then comment that they are not very good for various reasons, largely because they have not set it up properly).

I am not sure if you must have the Bit One set up by them but i was advised when researching my set up that 4 hrs of programing is included in the purchase price of the unit, so you would be daft not to let them do it making sure you are present when its done to learn the system!!!
