you would be better off investing in smaller sealed boxes, it should do the same thing, without as much hassles

as antisven said, its the box that dictates the sound of your bass. if your after 'tight and clean' a sealed box will give you that. Prolly cheaper then the maxxbass too if you are having them made, or even cheaper if you can make the box/boxes yourself :)

Thanks guyz...............
I thought so too, my previous set up was 2x S type in seal box ran by 1 M500 and I was happy with the tight bass and all.......................Silly me,I trashed out the S types and invested more than 1 K to have another M500 with 2x R type hopping that R type will deliver same tight bass and but also more powerful :( .
I am just about to give up on Alpine subs and wanna trash the whole alpine stuff out(amp and sub as I have F450 4 chanel to running speaker as well)
This time I will try my luck on Sound stream stuff.............might go for Davinci 7 channel amp and Davinci 12 inch ( only 1 sub this time)
What do u guyz reckon????
Cheers

Mix and match, choose what suits your purpose best and what you like the most, not its brand name.

To be honest, the shop should build exactly what you want :)
They can give advice but ultimately they are there so that you get in your car and are happy, even if everyone else wouldn't like it.
Maybe it's time to find a better store? Very few SQ contenders run ported boxes.... it's considerably more difficult (though possible) to make them sound tight, clear, without being boomy or being too loud at one particular frequency...

listen to both boxes, decide what sounds better to you and tell them exactly what you want. Don't let them feed you any crap cos its for your ears not theirs. And remember, it never hurts to shop around
