I'm in the market for a 4ch SQ amp for under $1G. Baring 2nd hand jobbies, I came down to The PG Xenon 200.4 or Alpine MRV-F545.

I can get either for $750 online, the PG for $1370 RRP locally or the Alpine $899 RRP locally.

Basically the chosen amp will power my pair of Focal Utopia 180W 7" splits, & the rear channels bridged for a 12" Sub. I wanna know is the Alpine up for the job SQ wise compared to the PG? I've only heard good about the PG, but I'm a bit skeptical bout buying online, & the alpine will deliver another 100wrms for the sub when bridged... so if they are close SQ wise, probly go the Alpine.

Educated opinions appreciated.

Thanks
Michael

PG

Q: How do you know if you're too drunk to drive? A: You swerve to miss a tree then realise it's the air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror.

PG
Reasons: built solid, more power for up front and would be generally better built as reflected by its retail price.

A couple of reviews:
PG Xenon X.100.2 + general things about Xenon series -> http://www.soundbuggy.com/Eric/Car%20Audio...00_2/index.html
X.200.4 specifically -> http://www.soundbuggy.com/Eric/Car%20Audio...00_4/index.html

PG all the way. i am a happy owner of a X100.4. i haven't heard of an Alphine though. before i bought this amp, i did lots of browsing for opinion in sounddomain. lots of people said they have improved SQ after upgrading from an Alphine amp to something lik PPI 480 or 4125. i believe an Xenon amp is better or at least equivalent to the PPI. at least on paper :)
