More speaker confusion.. Middle range 3 way or high end 2 way?

Whilst the installation costs of a 3 way speaker set initially put me of, I cannot help thinking it is the next best step I can make.
So.. I thought instead of getting a relatively high end 3 way set like the focal 165KRX3, I could go for the Polyglass 165VR3. I have had Polyglass before and was very happy so I have no issues with getting them again.
However - here is the question..
Do I get a high end 2 way set like KRX2 or Dyn 242GT and install them myself or get a middle range 3 way set like the 165VR3s and get them installed pro?
Either way the splits will be run from the passive XO from a Focal FP2.150 so I have 150WRMS to play with.
For me, the polyglass are proven.. However their only shortfall was they were a tad harsh so I ended up replacing the tweeters with some old Kevlar TN42's which made a nice difference.
Also, the car is a 2004 WRX STi and I would like to put the mid and the tweeter in the kick panel.
Let me know what you all think..
Thanks,
Emille

something with an 8" or 9" woofer would be more my choice. or something with a high-excursion 7" like CSS or SS rev
just my opinion.
