Door speaker pods for Golf MK5?

Hi guys,

Just wondering if it's worthwhile trying to get some pods made like these to get the position/imaging a bit better.

Trying to get away without a DSP for other reasons.

No, won't work.

All that will happen is that frequencies that are closer to the beaming angle of the driver will be heard better as they are closer to 'on axis'.

Yeah i think i'll give that idea a miss, as it would mean cutting the doors and looks a bit poxy having mounts as well as factory speaker locations.

wats the issue where to mount the speakers or wat???

couldnt you adjust the nbormal mounting holes to suitthe spekaer

just a thought its hard to see amnything with the dor trim on it lik that

In the MK5 R series Golf the midbass driver is in the rear portion of the front door (firing directly into the seat)

Yeah i don't know why the stock location was right at the back of the door, but found with enough power and the BitOne wasn't really a drama, just trying to simplify the setup.

The new MK6 have gone back to a 2-way with the woofer in the proper place (but wouldn't fit 8" midbass).
