alpine IVA-D106EV + alpine h701

well just bought my self a h701 just wondering if i was to run active 3 way fronts and still want rears does the rear outputs on the headunit still work?

when you switch the H/U to EQ/DIV all the H/U RCA outputs are off.

thanks for that mate. also just curious has anyone else ever run the center channel as a mono rear? i have been reading about it just want to know what people think about it?

the centre channel from the H701 only operates in surround mode.

if you want to run rears, why not parallel them off the midrange outputs, and run them out of phase from the fronts, and swapped left/right... that will give you some 3D effect to the sound.

you may have read discussion on the DIYMA forums about this. seems that some of the US guys suggest it can work well, running rear speakers with bandpass xovers, time-aligned, and in ProLogic mode (from memory).
