Hi lads,

I don't have much info as Pioneer were rather 'economical' with facts during the stage presentation, but at tonight's Sydney product launch they had a DEX-P99RS on the demo board so you can take it as read that it will be part of the 2010 line up.

At the moment the Oz website has no info but you can read about its specs here:

DEH-P99RS

I'd expect a sub-$1000 RRP. This is essentially an updated DEH-P80RS, though the volume control knob (left side for the Yanks) isn't a multi-way toggle like that used on the DEH-P80RS so the functionality is altered slightly. Seems about as easy/hard to use as before. Looks nice. More info when I get one for a full review.

OMFG, i thought these were never destined to be distributed locally!!

a sub-$1000 price-tag might be a bit optimistic considering OS prices though...

They have a P88RS-II on that site so i'm guessing the P99RS is the next step up in range.

from what I understand the P99 is basically the P90 combo all in one unit. so yeah just a bit of a step up from the P80 :P

it has ability for 3-way front stage PLUS sub, all active
full xovers, full t/a, a butt-load of eq.
also has an auto-tune function that is said to work VERY well

and it looks hot too...certainly hotter than lara bingle in the shower

Okay, I must admit the RRP suggestion from me is only based on assuming this unit replaces the 80RS. I did note that it has 4-way crossovers and up to 36dB per octave filter slopes. Maybe this unit offers more than the 80RS but from first hand fiddling it seemed much of a muchness.

yeah much more tuning than both the p80rs AND the hxd2

basically equivalent to a h701 or p90 combo (but with a little more functionality), but in one unit
