Hi everyone, I am newbie to the forum. I would like to ask some idea from you guys. I just start up with the sound system area which aim for the SQ in Honda Accord 1994. From what i have now there are:
-Alpine 9855
-2 sets of Hertz HSK 165 for front and rear
-1 Hertz ML3000
-1 Audison VRx4.300
-1 Audison LRx2.9
-Audison Speaker cable
-1 Optima yellow D34
From detail above i would like to put another Audison LRx 2.9 and Hertz ML 3000 into the set for the future bass quality
-Could anyone please suggest me that i should face the Sub box in to the car or face out to the car?
-What source of sub box would you guys recommend for the sound quality? ( Enclose, Port, Band Pass)
-Do i need another battery for the set? (3 Amplifier, 2 Sub)
Thank you very much for your suggestion

It's worth trying the sub box in a number of different positions to see which sounds best - it does vary from car to car.
As a general rule of thumb, facing backwards offers good low frequency loading, whereas facing forwards is often said to offer flatter response.
You should definitely have both subs facing the same way.
You should also be aware that using a 12" subwoofer with 900 watts already, that you will not gain sound quality from getting a second one - you will gain volume and to a lesser extent, dynamics. If that's what you're going for, then it's all good.
You may want to consider upgrading to a D31 optima or similar, it will be a fair bit of power, but your cabling also needs to be up to scratch. It doesn't matter 2c if you have "audison speaker cable," but you do need some fat power cabling. I would imagine a 0 gauge run with big 3 would be a good start.

No need for rear speakers at all. They'll only reduce your SQ score.
And that sub alone will be plenty for SQ (I've got one).
- I prefer to use a ported design box, having the port tuning as low as possible (ideally, below where most music plays), downside of this is it usually results in needing a huge box - mine for the same sub, is 86L (about 3cuft) and is tuned to 23Hz. Second choice would be a sealed box (but it won't play as low).
- As for direction, it's car specific, unless you can find someone with the same car and same gear and set up, you'll have to experiment to find the best location.
- 2nd battery, for SQ, that'll depend mainly on how long you want to be able to run the stereo with the car off. If you want to get into SPL, best check the rules, adding batteries puts you up in the classes, possibly putting you up against the 'big guys'.
