Well just when I thought I was out of the comp scene, it looks like I am being dragged back in. I am in the process of stripping out all the gear from the rolla(ready for sale), and thought, thats it no more comps for me. Then I see a never used ODR HU for sale and bought it. I am about to buy a new car in a few months(have to wait due to job change), and had only basic plans for a system in it. Now I am in discussions about doing a factory supported system. Its early days yet but I have clicked the switch in my mind to comp mode, and will be back, with or without backing.

Anyway looks like the madness has begun again, and I destined to stay broke for a cpl more years, living the dream ;)

peace

Nice!
Seriously Punky the other week sitting in yout car with that quick basic install kinda reminded me why I got into car audio in the first place - for the fun. Good to see your sticking around and look forward to seeing what you build!

Welcome back Bruce, as a long time friend, mentor and fellow judge, I am glad to have you around a bit longer.

Most importantly though, a great satisfaction for me would come with the apprentice beating the master in competition :)

Bring it on mate :)

Good to hear!

Great to hear Bruce. :good:

Indeed, when one has dabbled with high-end car audio, you can't just have a 'simple and basic' install thereafter! It always has to be something a bit special, even just a little.

Plan is Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart sportsback(what a mouthful). Had found one week before broke leg, but have put it on backburner now till made permanent at work. have to wait a cpl more months yet.

Kirk bought another HU for civic and fitting that tomoz. One of those fancy new ones that take usb ipod bluetooth etc and 4V preouts. The old Alpine in there was a good workhorse but it was past use by date, and means no more FM mod for Iphone

If the discussions I am having bare fruit, it will be fully active, and if they don't, I will evaluate options but more than likely active too, as this will allow me to fully exploit ODRs potential. The issue for me, if I am not backed, will be how much more money do I spend on this, which may limit choice/options. Having said that, I am confident I can get great results either way

BTW Shiz all my past systems have been fully active (till the last one) so I am by no means anti-active. When ppl state one method is better, as a matter of fact, I tend to disagree as thats like saying red is better than blue is a fact(clearly neither compare to green or even purple)

Isn't the current RalliArt a turbo? Just not to EVO spec?

basically same turbo motor(just de-tuned), same twin clutch auto (paddle shift) etc just not suspension and its heavier.
