why don't you start by replacing your HU with a pioneer unit, like you had before you lost all your ess ques ?
I have never heard of the brand you are using so think thats the best place to start. Adding another dodgy amp will be a waste of money. Sometimes you have to start at the beginning and then work your way forward one step at a time. Buying a dodgy cheap amp is putting good money after bad

Ok so i've narrowed it down to this... I didn't exactly want to get rid of the Eonon unit, it's a fairly good unit for what you pay for although the sound quality is abysmal and an amp i don't think will do enough justice, so im chucking this in^ It's double din and looks superb and the 4 channel amp to come along soon after.

Do you think my choice of HU is reasonable??

Never mentioned a cheap amp mate, i WAS going to get a good and well-known branded amp but looking at my previous post i've changed plans. Hope that makes you happy now i sure am ;)

Pretty sure my happiness or lack of, won't effect yours :) Sorry, when I saw your links I thought they were to the makers site and I havent heard of N-Audio either, so figured you were adding a no name amp to your no name HU. my bad.

Anyway looks like your on the right track now that you are getting a decent source. If it starts out rubbish no amount of great gear further down the signal path is going to make it any better. Is that HU an Aussie one ? didn't think premier was sold here(US only) so if it is a US model, thats another bunch of potential problems right there

HEKYEH i don't really have a budget something affordable of course not ridiculously priced but i want just a decent sound similar to what i was getting from the Pioneer...

Even though you say you don't really have a budget....EVERYONE has a limit. What I think is affordable for me, may not be affordable for you.

For instance, I wouldn't blink at paying more than $1000 for front speakers....Would you?

So, a budget helps :)

Sorry to say this...but u are replacing crap with crap...

Why do u need a double din unit? Something big and blingy with flashy lights won't give u great sound quality...

Have u been to any SQ events in your State? Have u listened to other ppl's cars that actually HAVE an SQ system in their car? If not, I'd recommend you do this before u spend/waste any more money...Just some advice...

crap with crap?? I can understand the first crap but are you trying to say this unit is also crap?? no reason for getting a double din or flashy lights it just simply looks good. I've heard some pretty good reviews about it so it can't be that bad. I'm not exactly looking for any competition sound just a good thorough sound. My previous pioneer single din was just a base model and that sounded awesome before i ripped it out so this should sound even better...

Cyberpunky - Yea i think its the US version but ill be getting the AUS no doubt.

Yea decision made and i'm happy with it but in your opinion since you probably have more knowledge for car audio then me, why would you say this is a crap unit. Any reason?

I think the Pioneer is a definate step in the right direction. Wouldnt say its crap thats for sure.
Premier is their top level gear that we dont even get !

Eonon I believe is sold a lot through eBay and generally someone selling that isnt intending it to be used for a quality install. Its a budget brand.

I started when I was 16 pulling my mothers tapedeck out cause it always chewed tapes.
Upgrade was a Sony walkman running off a tape-discman converter then an Alpine headunit for my 18th got me started so dont let peoples derogatory comments get to you.

Yeah definitely not. I have the pioneer in now and it sounds, looks and functions bloody awesome!! Some good audio effect features as well that you can play around with to get the right sound and sub bass controll, high and low pass filter adjustments all from the unit which is really good, im happy with my choice.

Excellent ! I just put the Pioneer 6850 double din DVD in my wifes car and upgraded mine to the AVIC HD3 which has the GPS and seems to sound better as well for some reason......
