First of all, sorry! I know there are alot of threads about/involving the AVIC-F900BT already! Haha.

Just got myself a Forester XT and I'm wanting to put a 2din unit in that has sat nav/ipod/etc.
A couple of quick questions;
WOW Sight and Sound is offering this unit (or its possibly the 910?) for $1500 - is that a good deal? Further to that... are WOW installers generally OK/good/crap?
I've done a fair bit of reading about this unit and it seems to have pretty good rep... are there units with similar quality/functionality for around the same price?

Cheers
Sol

Really depends on the store to rate the installer.

indeed. some of them are teh veteran BCS crowd some are quite green.. buy it from a smaller store that sells the same gear. price may not be the same but I dare say you will have your car in one piece.

The 900 is a truly horrible unit. Avoid like herpes.

agreed..... stay away from herpes.... :silly:

900/910 were very slow and had quite a lot of software issues, even when updated. you can mod them to use any wince5 nav software, and run wince itself. but again were very slow.

but still, for that price i would be trying to get a good deal on something like the alpine 502 d/din and nav, or even the newer pioneer nav units.

With original firmware the 900 was slowish, but not with current firmware. The 910 wasn't slow and didn't have any problems from my experience.

I didn't have any problems with my 900, except for being a little slow before updating firmware. What do you think is horrible about them?

I never thought my F900BT was particularly slow, just didn't particularly like the buttons and the plastic look of it. The interface seemed alright though
