Hey guys,

I'm currently gathering a sound system together to house within my car. At the moment I'm running
Speakers:
Front: Focal Krx2's (6.5" Splits)
Rear: 165KRC (6.5" Co-axial)
Amplified by: PDX 4.150
PDX 4.100
As well as Dynamatt across all doors and boot.

Further more i need Sub woofers to match
I'm currently running Alpine two PDX 1.600's (600RMS) w/ no sub
and needing something to fill that gap

Open to Any Suggestions for sub woofers which will go nicely with that 2x600RMS figure.

P.s. If you are wondering why I've left 2 channels free on both 4 channels,
they are getting used further down the track for future development.

All Questions, suggestions or comments are welcome.
Thanks for you time guys.
Speakers:
Front Stage: 6.5" Splits Focal Krx2's @2ohm
Parcel shelf: Coaxial 6"
Focal 165KRC @ 4@ohm
Subwoofers: Twin 12" JL Audio 12w7-3 @ 3ohm
Amplifiers:
Alpine PDX 4.150
Alpine PDX 4.100
Alpine PDX 2x 1.600
Headunit:
Alpine IDA-x305
Sound Proofing:
Dynamat Bulk Pack
Battery:
Optima Blue Top

can't give u any advice without a budget.
also, do you have any space limitations? (no point recommending a sub that prefers a 2.5cuft box if you only have 1cuft to work with...)
what sort of car is it?

If there's no SPECIFIC requiements, and you can fit a 1.3 cubic foot box or larger, I'd go with this, EVERY time.

Looking at the quality of gear in use already, I'd be thinking:
*Morel Ultimo SC
*Boston Acoustics G3 or G5
*Focal 27V2 or 27KX
*Diamond Audio D612
*Image Dynamics IDQ12v3

But as asked, it will depend upon budget and space limitations.

Lower budget possibilities:
Mach 5 Audio IXL12 x2
Adire Audio Shiva-x2 x2

With 2x600w RMS I'd be looking to run two subwoofers, or a single larger diameter subwoofer (ie 15-18" with dual coils.)

budget is the place to start.

2x 12" for loud+clear, or 1x12" for subtle.

look at $800+ RRP for best results.

Look, there's so many to choose from, it's not funny. If I didn't have my Infinity Perfect 10VQ's, I reckon I'd be just as happy with the Morel, or many others that have and will be suggested. Good luck in your decision. Choosing is half the fun. And yes, I do think that the VQ's are an incredibly good sounding and engineered driver. I have many years in the high end home audio industry as a reference and these subs, in the correct environment are very, very accurate and punch well beyond their weight. Use them ported or sealed, big box or very small, and choose your motor force with various magnet inserts.

If those spare channels are for dedicated midbass drivers, then go for one large 18" sub. Once you hear one and get used to it, its very hard to let go of that bottom 1/3 octave responce (even if its only ever heard, ever so infrequently)....
I like Mach5 IXL18, but any other 18" from the reputable brands will do. Provided your willing to install it correctly.

The aura is damm good, but it also aught to be for that price, considering the Mach5 and EA alternatives.

With a claim like that I'd expect it to blow the Mach5 and Shiva out of the water...

Budget wise im considering about spending between $1000 - $1200 for two subs.
I had a box made to fit two 12" alpine type rs but they just weren't doing it for me.
The car which they will be housed in is a vl Calais.
