From the website: http://www.mobileele...o_closes_doors/

Genesis was founded in 1991 with the mission to create the world's finest automotive audio systems. After nearly 20 years and countless accolades received around the world, Genesis this morning announced the closure of the company. Announced via their Facebook page, "Hello loyal fans...............I have the unfortunate job of giving you the sad news that as of midday today we closed the factory doors and will no longer be the much loved GENESIS amplifiers.............thank you all for your continued support over the last 19 years."

As the market shifts further and further towards a budget, entry level and price driven industry we can only hope that more of the higher end and prestigous brands do not follow this same fate.

Genesis Car Audio was distributed in Australia by Mobile Audio Solutions who distribute other brands including Dynaudio, Arc Audio, Image Dynamics and DLS.

I am still in shock! Posted Image

This news has come as a huge surprise to many people (including the local distributor, when I called him this morning!)

It should be made aware to those who have purchased Genesis gear recently, that all warranties are still valid and the usual Genesis back-up and service will continue.
For anyone thinking of purchasing a Genesis amplifier/s, they are still available while current stocks exist.

It's a real shame this is what has happened. It would be a sad world if all we have to choose from is mass market gear!

Here's hoping other manufacturers don't suffer the same fate as Genesis.

Cheers,

Absolutely, the closure of the factory doesn't necessarily signal the end of the brand.

A number of premium brands have been through changes of similar magnitude over the years and are still with us.

I'd be surprised if someone didn't pick up the baton and run with it."

p'raps all is not totally lost.

The only excuse for passive crossovers is their low cost. Their behavior changes with the signal level dependent dynamics of the drivers. They block the power amplifier from taking maximum control over the voice coil motion. They are a waste of time, if accuracy of reproduction is the goal.

Audiowave have been around a few years now in the U.K.

"Not cheap" would be the worlds largest understatement!

A couple of guys I talk to in Britain, use or have used the gear..
