A number of people are flying to Newcastle from Melbourne for National Finals.
Can we get an idea of anyone else considering this by replying in here please?

Might be able to work out a group booking out of Tullamarine to ensure you're all together for the Friday night flight.

What are the plans for Friday night? Few quite ones in the bar downstairs or sleep and go nuts the next night. Not sure what time we are leaving but will take about 8-10 hrs with stops.

According to Whereis, it's 12.5 hours plus breaks from S.E. Melbourne, straight up the Hume Hwy.

I think I may be "too pooped to pop".. :P

Few quiet ones downstairs sounds like a plan to me. Judges have some discussions to have also on the Friday night as per usual Nationals.

I've booked our flights guys as they have been getting more expensive each day.

If we want to travel together I would suggest getting in soon:

Melbourne > Newcastle - Jetstar JQ 478 (Departs Melbourne Friday 29th October 8:05pm) Only early afternoon otherwise, which is not convenient for me.
Newcastle > Melbourne - Virgin Blue DJ 1590 (Departs Newcastle Monday 1st November 12:45pm)
