U.S model Pioneer Head Unit w/ gps, can it be flashed for Australia?

Hey everyone

Just wanted to know if anyone knows if you where to use a U.S model Pioneer head unit with GPS, are you able to upload Australian maps into it?

depends on what unit it is. got SOME ran on a wince base which were changeable, but most are embedded software so you cant do much.

what was the model number??

hmmmmm.... well the software that is on that screen is the same as the avic-f500bt in my gf's car, which i have now modded and got back to windows. it now runs garmin, tom tom and i-go (original software but updated) even had the thing connected to the net through active sync.

www.avic411.com has a lot of stuff for the avic units have a look :)

I know this is an old topic but thought I'd try anyway. I have a JVC KW-AVX736NAV. The navigation module is a separate unit with an SD card. I'm a little sick of the navigation software, is it possible to download and install Garmin or TomTom software to it? Anyone in Sydney willing to give me a hand?
