Netbooks?

I've had a look over other threads and was wondering what people think about using these 10 inch netbooks as carputer bases?
The downsides I see is that they onl have VGA and USB, no other video/audio outs really (besides headphone jack).
Boot time isnt a worry for me and I can always change the power supply as you guys pointed out in another thread.
I have a 7inch double din touch screen dvd player already in my car and should beable to hook into that (I think). I want to use the computer mainly as a music streeming device (like ipod) but will also use it to hold ECU data later on and possibly use for GPS.
The idea behind using the netbooks is purely size. It'll fit in my glove box with relative minor modification unlike larger systems. I don't plan to use it for graphic related processes, only storing info and sometimes pics/videos from car cruises.
Sorry if my details are a bit messy, cheers for any help.

Netbooks can struggle a bit with video playback, but audio/mp3 is fine.
you can use a USB sound card to get decent audio output.

It's powered by a carnetix p1900 which controls startup and shutdown with the ignition
Be careful with the dvd player screen input. It may only take composite input, and not vga

Doubtful, unfortunately. No car headunits that I'm aware of have a high-resolution input, nor a control output.
