Hey guys

Seen a custom fascia made for a VE on ls1 forums, and was hoping to find someone in NSW who can do this.

A mate has a '06 VE with the manual air con, so no info on the display, Im led to believe models after this have some HVAC system to show info on the screen?

Anyway, who in NSW can make the fascia as shown in the pic??

Go see Marty at FHRX Studios..

He will most likely be able to help you with something like this.. won't be cheap, though. (at least for quality work, it won't be.. )

HTH :)

asas above.. qaulity work wont be cheap mate... if you want qaulity, be prepared to pay for it, and go see only reputable shops.. see there previous work if possible, and ask if they have done anything similar you can see pics of...

the best price, isnt always, the best price.. cos if your not happy and have to do it twice, then it will cost you more in the long run..

fhrx has a history of qaulity work, and would be one of my first stops, or hakki from crankin car audio is a TOP farbication guy..

There has been some talk for a while about options coming to allow the stock headunit to be replaced (full replacement unit and double din fascia) in a far easier fashion than a custom fascia. However, these options are still 'coming' apparently? I've been waiting for a while now. I was quoted once about $1500 for a custom fascia and then the cost of a double din unit would have been on top of that!!

there is a couple of setups on LS1.com.au.

one of them uitilses the omega lcd (above the factory uit at top of dash) to display climate control data and HVAC controls and gives a double din option underneath. easily the best looking/integrated system. There is another which uses a very basic (bus style) control panel flush mounted into the facia which in my oppinion looks very cheap and nasty.

I assume this is the cheap one you're referring to? http://www.ls1.com.a...ad.php?t=139833

The first one you mentioned - is that just the touchscreen HVAC controller in the omega screen location? i.e. This isolates the HVAC controls, but there still isn't a simple fascia to allow a double din to be installed in this case though is there?

Just sit tight there... I currently have 5 customers waiting for the facia... I spoke to the bloke who has built the facia and he said yesterday that were looking at the end of the month..

This will allow a double din unit to be installed where the factory poo omega radio is and will replicate the factory hvac controls beneath the unit... this will display on the screen of the double din installed above it..

Of course something is damaged! There was smoke!

Sounds good. Which style fascia are you referring to - the one in my earlier post or a different one? I've heard of a couple of different ones. Any pics?

Everything is ready apart from one component, so it should be available in the next few weeks.

I will post a better video and photo of the final parts soon.
The photo and video are all prototypes.
Cheers

Look forward to seeing some more pics and video when its final.
