Please refer to the below post regarding MEASQ in NSW
I am posted this here in case there are people that dont venture into the MEASQ event subforum

The MEAACT crew are willing to help get MEASQ in NSW off the ground. We can provide judges and organisation, we just need you to provide a venue and advertising.

http://www.mobileele...asq-nsw-appeal/

at this point we would only like to run an SQ event, there are enough SPL comps in NSW already.

please provide some support to finally getting MEASQ happening again in NSW

I can't believe there has been no interest in this

people are always complaining about a lack of competition in NSW but noone is willing to actually step forward and help make it happen.
All that is required is one person really. All you have to do is approach a few shops about hosting a comp, spam some forums and maybe distribute some flyers. ACT can even help with trophies, so long as our costs are covered.

Come on NSW step up and make this happen, we are not going to organise it for you.

I think thats the problem in NSW at the moment, lots of people to help but no one to actually organise or lead. I will make the trip to ACT this year to support them and if NSW gets a comp or 2, I'll be there to help and assist in anyway. But to take on the responsibility of leading and organising is too much for me and not afraid to admit it. I would love someone to do it though and would throw my backing behind them.

James, Im sure you know you have my support. But I hate to say this, from what rounds I've done there is very little support and somewhat lack of interest. Particularly in venues and finance and people here tend to lean to bling, spl & show.

Or maybe im talking to the wrong people?...

well at the end of the day it is no skin off our nose. we weren't offering to help get a series started for our own benefit, more the benefit of the NSWers. If noone is willing to stand up then NSW will just have to go without again

I went into Nova Car Systems here in Newcastle and "Mr Brown" (the owner) advised me that comps are "a waste of time because he gets no business out of them"

Great spirit ! He does have lots of spl trophies from a couple of years back.

Hey.... and it's just a thought... I was wondering about SQ comps. Now, I have no where near a "competition level" sound system, however, I would be really keen to know what other people (ie judges) thought of my set-up, where I could improve it and what I'm doing well.

I'm just wondering if the lack of interest in competitions is to do with a general lack of interest on behalf of the stores OR participants. If it's the stores, then I guess it's just a matter of constantly asking around. However, if a comp isn't going to pull competitors, its a waste of time for all involved.

If it's on behalf of the competitors, then maybe there might be value in holding like... maybe "amatuer" or comp-prep heats to help people like me work out how to get to the competition level. I dunno, like a junior league kind of thing.

Just putting it out there.

SleeperSaab novice class is intended for exactly that. its for first time competitors only

as for the lack of competitons i believe it is due to no-one wanting to organise it. NSW used to have a really strong scene some years ago but this pretty much just stopped. I would still think the competitors are there as Lifestyle managed to have competitors show up for their competitions however they were/are unwilling to run within the MEASQ rules.

if this doesn't get off the ground in NSW don't forget ACT is still running our series, and a 2.5 hour isn't really that far. We have 4 rounds scheduled for the series this year. Check the MEASQ events section for more details

cheers
James

Guys there is a SQ comp going on, and that is held in conjunction with the lifestyle store. But certain people from this forum wont allow it to be mentioned on this site due to personal politics. It's been going on since march last year in 2010 with the full support of DB Drag Australia... just for ur info.

we are well aware of the lifestyle comps if you bothered to read my post before your comment. however lifestyle has made it clear they do not wish to run MEASQ rules and thus fail to be part of a nationally recognised format
My understanding is that lifestyle were offered the opportunity to run under MEASQ and they declined for whatever reason, therefore it is understandable that their comps are not allowed to be advertised on here when they are clearly out to compete with the format

and what does dB Drag have to do with SQ? for the record MEAACT runs dB drag as well :)

They are not out to compete with the format. They are just doing their own thing which has actually been very successful. I just got sick and tired of people saying that there is nothing going on in NSW when there actually was. Everyone was welcome. Nobody bothered to have a look. The only person that ever rocked up was Rick(mad89) and his mate. As for db drag with the sq comp it has been officially held by Db Drag Australia. Another reason to let the people know that the event was on
