Worked out well that time when i turned up. A guy ended up meeting me there to look at my old car and bought it! :D

I must say though, there were a few things about the comp and judging that i didnt agree with, which makes it hard to justify coming back. That said though, whatever works for the Lifestyle customer base is what the organisers will stick to.

BTW, there were a few of other people from this forum that were there, but you probably didn't know who they were. :P

which includes myself at the first round, i even took out runner up.
but when the judge's feedback included them telling me to "buy new tweeters" i didn't bother returning

but this thread isn't about Lifestyle's comps, this is about getting MEASQ up and running again in NSW :)

agreed with mad here. lifestyles comps are about excess and who ever has the most clarion wins pretty much.

an example of bad judging is a friend of mine Dan with his little move. has roughly 10 focal splits up front. the judges had the hide to say he needs more front stage.

this is why no body goes to enter lifestyles SQ comps really, poor judging and mass bias for their own customers cars.

i also think the main reason NSW doesnt have MEASQ up and running, is that the people that would be involved in the NSW competitions side of running and promoting the events, dont want to due to conflicts with MEA over previous years, this is why SQ was abandoned in NSW and that no body has really wanted to get it going again in NSW, this is from what i have heard.

if it gets up and going though i would be more the happy to come along and enter and show my support.

Mate, Marty wasn't a customer and still got it. I haven't bought anything from them in 3 years. Plus the stuff that I am using is not available at lifestyle. Paul that took out the 6-10k class was running arc se amps which lifestyle doesn't sell. If your car was good enough, you would have been rewarded. Next time have a listen to some of these cars. Another thing, as for 2loud2loud, did u have the corrolla? If so, they said to reposition the tweeters. There was nothing wrong with them. It's just that the comp is set for 2 seated judging because in reality you will have someone sitting in the passengers seat at least once in a while. As for poor judging, Sal used to be a judge for MEA, for years back in the mid to late 90's where he took out the australian nationals so many times. If that's not enough, he tuned the rockford car from America and all the other ones to. Just ask Damon about Sal's credibility.

no I have a commodore, and the judges did actually tell me to buy new tweeters, they did not say to reposition them.

but as I said this thread isn't about the lifestyle comps, so back on topic please :)

my advise with your reply is know who ya talking to when you reply LOL. i think i have been around the comp scenes a little longer then you have.

but anyway MEA anything in NSW i think wont be happening for a long time because the NSW MEA guys that can get it all going again disappeared pretty much. trying to get it up and going again, is like flogging a dead horse so to speak.

try find and contact the people in NSW that use to run events or that have the capabilities of getting events happening and see what they can do. thats all i can suggest.

Sorry, but Sal was a judge from CAA. I didn't bag the MEA cars. The cars that sounded the best won. Not one sq car that won the lifestyle events was a bling bling car as there is no installation category. BTW I did speak to Sal about it and he did mention the MEA cars that competed, had good staging and imaging, but the balance wasn't great in some cars. The intergration between drivers wasn't quite there. Ricks mates car did sound better than mine, but the only reason he was a runner up was that his was only tuned for a single seat. If he had it tuned for bot front seats he would of whipped my ass fair and square. As for your user name swift, I still don't know who you are. If I saw you, or knew which car it was I could possibly remember. Ease off Swift_GTI. King of SPL, and? I will always give people aknowledgement if their cars sound good and where it's due.

You crack me up mate.

I'm in for helping with NSW this year - I don't know how much I can help with but I have weekends off for at least the next 6 months and finally have a dependable income. I'd be would be happy to lend a hand in any way I can.

Admittedly I probably wouldn't have the time for managing / organising but i'm happy to help with setting up on the days, judging, or anything else I have the time for.

Feel free to send me a PM if there is anything that needs help with, and I'll let you know what I can and can't handle.

And this is a concern why?

Why is it that having 10 brand name splits in the front of a car removes the right for it to be criticised? I've actually never heard a car with multiple sets of splits that sounded any good.

We're not here to bag out other formats (or stores for that matter).
Good on Lifestyle for getting their comps up and running, at least NSW has something at the moment.
Yes, I personally spoke to Laurence and Sal regarding using the MEASQ format, which they were open to except for the fact they were only weeks out from their first event and had done a LOT of work pre-organising and promoting already.
I wished them the best with what they were doing and that was the end of it.

They have never approached us to advertise or promote their events and competitions (but if they did, they would be subject to the same terms and conditions all commercial entities are that wish to advertise on MEA).

That's the end of the story, and that's the end of this thread.
It does not look like there is enough interest (still) in NSW to justify an MEASQ branch just yet.
We can revisit this later in the year in preparation for 2012.

If anyone would like to talk about this further, please just contact me directly.
