I want to try and save some weight and space from the boot and either get a small subwoofer and enclosure in the boot (maybe around 15L?) or get something for under the front seats?

There isn't alot of room in the front of the car for kick panel woofers, or under dash woofers.
So my options are under seat, or in the boot.
Clearance under the seats is about 3inches high and 10inches wide/long.

Any ideas?

Image Dynamics IDQ10v3 would suit nicely.

And Marty at Fhrx Studios, Sydney, has previously suggested the Rainbow Hammer 10" for small enclosures.

Infinity Perfect 10VQ is quoted as working in a sealed box as small as 8.5 litres. They work very well in 14 litres from direct experience.

Peerless XXLS 10" would be tough to beat - great in 14-15 litres, brilliant sound quality and above average sensitivity.

Ultimo SC 10 may be another option, from memory they work nicely in small enclosures.

Sorry to hijack but would anyone know the best places to pick up these woofers in Perth?
Price wise. Looking at the IDQ as well.
Cheers
Chris

I just built the enclosure to suit this Rainbow Hammer 10". Overall dimensions were 300x300x280mm!!! Tiny enough for you?

Focal 27V2 works well in small enclosures, and IMO sound better than the IDQ's. I'm running mine in 20L enclosures and the sound great. The IDQ sounds a little thin compared to the Focals which have a very 'musical' sound to them.

I'm not sure on Perth itself but I know Marty will post gear, usually for free. I have bought from him a few times this way and it's quite pain free.

4 subwoofers to consider:-

1. SEAS L26ROY 10" woofer for .6 cubic foot box

2. CDT CES1020 10" woofer for .35 to .45 cubic foot box (also available as a dual coil)

3. CDT CES 1220 12" woofer for .35 to .65 cubic foot box (also available as a dual voice coil)

4. Polk SR104 10" woofer for .65 cubic foot box (also available as a dual voice)

I currently use 2 SEAS L26ROY's in twin .6 litre boxes which replaced 2 Focal 27KK woofers.
My daughter runs 2 Polk S R104DVC (dual coil version) which are also sound quite good.

The Seas has similar enclosure requirements to the 10" XXLS - looks similarly impressive on paper also, tho I haven't heard it first hand to confirm.

Worth a look in :)
