I bought this pair as part of his pre-release order, and as such, all customers received the Limited Edition version as a bonus. The difference being, the phase plug is made from 'ironwood' rather than 'rosewood'; the LE will ordinary carry a US$75 premium. This pair cost me US$460, delivered; not sure what the normal price will be.
They are 4ohm drivers, with an Fs of 165Hz, 5mm one-way xmax, 86 dB/W/m sensitivity, and power handling up to around 250WRMS depending on enclosure size and xover setting (recommended at least 50WRMS). All in a 3" driver!
XR = eXtended Range series
M = magnesium alloy cone
Suggested HP xover setting is 250-300Hz, and extend beyond 20kHz with no roll-off! Indeed many users suggest tweeters are not necessary. Enclosure size 0.75-1.0L, or infinite baffle. These could be used as part of an awesome 2-way setup. Audio Physics also offer the 'XR Duo', with the XR3M teamed with the XR6.5M 6.5" woofer. There are also several other series in his range.
They are very solidly built - heavy! Those in the US who are using them, or have heard them, rave about them. I originally bought them to use as centre channel speakers. However, given MEASQ no long has 2-seat judging, a centre channel is no longer essential. So rather than cut a hole in the dash of my Alfa 155, I'm now tempted to install these in the kickpanel enclosures and replace the Sinfoni S100M 4" midrange, and possibly negate using the Sinfoni S25T tweeters too!

For now, I'll continue with the Sinfoni mids/tweets, but I will build some adaptors to try these XR3M's in the future.
