Don't knock Pos-A-Traction tyres! You have no idea how well they smoke up :D

...I've even bought a wreck with pos-a-traction tyres on it....and I'd hazzard a guess they were a contributing factor to the car in question becomming a wreck, lmao.

So I had a cutomer call me at work and complain about a crackling that had developed in the tweeters of his Alpine speakers. He informed me that he'd had the speakers professionally fitted and so I pointed him in the direction of his installer to have them look over the workmanship incase of an install fault.

They told him if they didn't find a problem they'd charge him for the labour to double check their own work. As it was a late model commodore I told the guy to come in and I'd have a look for him. Low and behold I found this when I sussed out his passenger side tweeter.

The tweeter was mounted directly to the stock bracket with a piece of sticky backed velcro

This is how the tweeter wiring looked, spliced into the factory wiring. Maybe not so bad until you look a little closer...

BEH BEOW!! Twitch and tape much? And to charge a customer as a professional install?

So I called them on behalf of the customer and told them what i'd found. They offered to take care of any warranty issues for the customer claiming that a problem like this HAD to be an issue with the tweeter and couldn't be caused by this bodgy install. So despite their lacklustre install, they did cave pretty quickly when challenged, which worked out okay for the customer.

Thoughts?

There is shaming, but i don't see any naming.

Source: Alpine 9887

Front: 2 x SB Acoustics SB17 per door

Front Amplifier: Digital Designs S4a

Subs: 2 x Hybrid Digital Designs/PSi 99F series

619 customs on Port Rd. Considering they're a custom place, youd expect a little more pride in workmanship.
