Hi, I recently bought a Mazda MX-5 NB /02 Titanium with a Bose audio system (door speakers are splits) the base is abysmal. Before you write this off by suggesting a complete change of system, which would be the logical procedure, I have 2 other vehicles into which I have installed Boston Audio speakers and sub with dual Alpine PDXs, so I am aware of this course. Problem 1 is I want to keep this little-used vehicle looking original and problem 2 is the Bose speakers are .5ohm and cannot be replaced by conventional speakers, otherwise it would have a set of Bostons ASAP. It would seem the originals are driven by a 100w into 2 amplifier. Full specs are hard to obtain. As it is usually driven with the top down sound quality is not so important but better mid base is. cheers Pete.

easiest option would be to bin (store) the oem gear and replace with aftermarket gear. no other options in BOSE's (Box Only Sound Extra) case.

Q: How do you know if you're too drunk to drive? A: You swerve to miss a tree then realise it's the air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror.
