Glassing a bumper

Now on the bottom of the bumper there is a crack that goes right through, i was thinking of just using some body filler to fix it, but i think the filler will crack when the join flexes.
I was how ever thinking about glassing the back side of the crack (on the inside of the bumper) to give it strength and body filling the outside.
Do you guys think it will work alright?
On the bottom here you can see the crack.

I got a butane iron with a knife attachment that will work well.
Anyone know what i can use to melt as a plastic filler? Obviously im after something from a hardware or automotive store, otherwise ill just improvise.

I'd probably be using a temperature controlled iron so you can set the temperature properly or you'll probably just burn it, rather than melting it.
