Rules & Guidelines
  • If the subwoofer enclosure is sealed up against the interior panels, so as to form that of a wall it will be considered as such. The subwoofer enclosure should also be able to be removed with minimal fuss (or will also be considered a 'wall). Subwoofer enclosures will be allowed to above the window-line, and still not classify as a 'wall' with consideration to the above. It doesn't take a genius to know whether the car is running a 'wall' or not, and judges discretion will apply.
  • Music to be played can be absolutely anything, as long as the judges can deem it "musical". If one competitor brings a Bass Mekanik CD, and another brings Lady Gaga, then the one who bought the Bass Mekanic was simply better prepared.
  • Each competitor gets a minimum of 3 runs to score their highest scores, no qualifing / eliminations, just 3 attempts to make your highest numbers. Judges will determine how many additional runs competitors may have depending on the time schedule.
Trophies Awarded in Each Class
Winner | Runner Up

Additional Awards:
SPL WARRIOR (Loudest on the day)

Street Beat Class A booboo, i can't see there being an issue with it being infront of the B-pillar in your situation, as it won't be of any advantage to you in the slightest....

sorry if i should know this by the above description, but does this now mean its no longer a 30 sec average? also if its just ur max spl over 30 seconds an no average do you have to keep playing the music for the whole 30 seconds or can you stop if you get a score you are happy with?

There's no averages anymore, it works on maximum SPL. We found that as much as the concept seemed cool and fun, the whole point is trying to grow the scene and get more interest in the sport. New comers really didn't understand the whole average SPL thing, but maximum SPL they understand.

If there is any confusion regarding what is a wall and what isn't - we'll take a look and use our discretion on the day and place you in the appropriate and fair class.
The sole purpose of this is to make it as easy as possible to compete, and with judges discretion ensure a level playing field for all.

Marc, if I was to enter and as an example for others with a similar setup, would my sub enclosure that is against the rear seat, be classed as a wall?

Tiger, this part of the rules is what I am trying to confirm for others who may have a similar setup..

Rules & Guidelines
If the subwoofer enclosure is sealed up against the interior panels, so as to form that of a wall it will be considered as such. The subwoofer enclosure should also be able to be removed with minimal fuss (or will also be considered a 'wall).

If you take the rule as it is written, then my enclosure is a wall.

I don't want to start an argument, just get a clarification for those considering entering on Sunday.

Maybe that rule should be reworded in a way that means that in the boot isn't the issue... but the cabin itself. If THAT has difficulty withh removal procedures, then it's classed as a wall. In the boot, it doesn't (or shouldn't apply), I would believe.

Makes sense?

unfortunately Mark, what you are doing is reading into the guidelines too much, i understand what your saying, but those same guidelines also state this

It doesn't take a genius to know whether the car is running a 'wall' or not, and judges discretion will apply.

to compare your civic to my charade (which is clearly walled) would be ludicris, and i think just about anyone with close to 20-20 vision, or even just ears would be able to tell the difference

in the SPL world, your car would be considered a "mini-wall" a mini wall is not "a wall" but due to the similarities in build concepts, is why it has earned that nickname...

i don't really want to drive 800km only to be told that my boot install is a wall. Could i pm some pics to someone to get their ruling? Thanks.

so does this mean your making the drive over?!?!?! i'd like that alot man!! keen to see what the aristo does with it's new found awezomes!! Much like my post to Mark, trunk cars are exempt from the "wall" rulings... however woofer size/quantity MAY be an issue for you... feel free to PM about this...

i'd also like to add personally, that this format is NOT for those that want to go out and build their car to push the boundaries of the rules to find every advantage they can to "bend" the rules , we're not mindless sheep following every rule in writing... in 99% of situations the judges rulings will define what class your put in, eg. if your trunk car is highly competitive in one of the "ultimate" classes, and far beyond any competition in the street beat classes, then you may be invited to move up a class...

at the end of the day, it all comes down to judges discretion, we're not fools, and we don't bite, i'm MORE than happy to answer any and all question on what class your car may fit into...

if you have some constructive criticism, then by all means feel free to post it up in a constructive mannor...
