hey guys just a quick question (don't flame me if its been covered) but i'm looking for a dc-dc converter as a power supply for my wyse computer which i'm going to be running into my single DIN fold out screen. got the computer given to me by a mate so its all i've got to work with ATM.

Just wondering what power supply i need for it as its NOT a laptop and the current 240v power supply has an output of : 19V@3.42A
Links or info would be greatly appreciated....
Cheers Guys
Thorsten

...you need a laptop power supply...

65watts minimum.

I have two from Jaycar, but they don't seem to stock it anymore, only larger, more expensive versions.

so running the larger current will not damage my computer? and what will happen if it experiences voltage drop?

the computer will draw the current it needs, the powersupply won't force extra current into the computer.

what happens if what experiences voltage drop?

if the power supply experiences voltage drop due to me also running a 1500WRMS amp?
Also asked at jaycar today whether they have a dvi to rca converter but the guy explained to me how this would not be possible as dvi being a digital signal and rca's being analogue. Does that mean that my idea is not possible? And also if i did manage to get a converter would my best to transmitt sound to the deck be the headphone jack?

Sorry for all the question (me being completely new to the whole CAR-PC thing)
And thanks allot James for your help...

the powersupply should take anywhere down to 10volts input and still output a regulated 19volts.

double check the specs before buying it though.
