Don't you love it when things just work? If you're the owner of a series one VE Commodore you will know too well it's been virtually impossible to upgrade your factory head unit .... until now! Thanks to Quasi Technologies and Alpine there is now a solution and they're running out the door around the country.

A huge bonus for the developers of this integration to team up with Alpine, and better value to be had by the end user as well. Whilst I still find the looks at odds with a car interior, this is a solution bound to attract plenty of people.

Personally, I think the idea is very good but I'm not a fan of the Bus/Coach style control panel. I understand it is a budget thing and all but there was another similar idea which used the Omega green LCD binicle for a touch screen giving a far greater integrated look and feel.

I wonder why aftermarket manufacturers dont allow some kind of canbus input (much the same as a steering wheel interface) where with only an adaptor to suit your particular model will give full control of the HVAC controls via the touch screen of the headunit.
