For those among you who are either new here or perhaps have just resided on another planet apart from this particular one, Fhrx Studios used to hold frequent charity BBQ days. Whilst it's been a while since our last one; just like an adolescent with more pull than a diesel locomotive, we’ve finally succumbed to schoolyard peer pressure and have decided to commence the silliness again! So without further ado; I announce:

The first official 2011 Fhrx Studios charity BBQ / tuning & audition day!

To be held on the 25th June from 10:00am onwards, the day will be run similar to the last billion or so we’ve held. Basically here’s how it works; you bring yourself (typically a somewhat vital component) and park your car out in the street next door. You then walk around the end of the building and down to visit us here. While you’re here you can have a chat to us and other MEA members, both local and interstate. You can also have yourself a feed and have a look at and listen to the demo cars we’ll have here on display (and hopefully the odd supercar will be visiting during the day too). Additionally; you’re more than welcome to audition the numerous component sets we have here and hopefully by the end of it all provide a small (or better still; large) donation to RIDBC. Now like any event there is some fine print to run though so let’s get into it:

1. Parking.
We’ve learnt from past experience that our comparatively small car park tends to fill up quite fast and because it’s being held on a Saturday some of the other businesses in the complex will require their spots. Therefore we ask that unless invited into the main section of the car park please park your ride out on the street next door.

2. Tuning.
On subject of the aforementioned invite and more importantly how you attain one; while the main intention of these BBQ days is to raise some money for charity, we also allow people to use the RTA, CRO and other test equipment free of charge but on one condition – you make a small donation to RIDBC. So similar to the deck on the USS Nimitz; we’ll also have a peculiar looking traffic director who will tell you when to bring your car in and where to park it in order for you to use the RTA and CRO for tuning.

3. Grub.
The way we handle the BBQ and grub is pretty straightforward. Fhrx Studios has always footed the bill for the food meaning you can gorge yourself silly on things like banger sandwiches for free but we do ask that you make a small donation to RIDBC before you set about hammering yourself with various parts of a 2000 pound quadruped.

4. RIDBC.
By now you’ve probably read the acronym enough to stimulate your curiosity. To save you putting it into acronymfinder.com I’ll explain; it stands for Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children and hopefully the title speaks for itself. RIDBC is one of the charities Fhrx Studios endorses and we encourage you to help out the less fortunate young ones amongst us who cannot enjoy simple things like the sound of the systems we own. Click here for more information on RIDBC.

5. Auditioning.
Besides having plenty of interesting cars and products on display here to look at, listen to and generally fiddle with, there are also various component sets to have a listen too if you wish so arm yourself with some CDs when you visit. Some of the components sets here ready to audition include:

* Alpine SPX-17PRO
* Audison Thesis
* Boston SPZ60
* Crescendo Opus 8.6
* Diamond Hex Pro
* DLS Scandinavia
* DynAudio Esotar2
* Focal Utopia
* Hertz Mille MLK3
* Morel Surpemo / Piccolo
* Oz Audio Matrix
* Rainbow Profi Vanadium CS 265 Phase Plug
* Seas Lotus Reference

6. Tunes.
We’ll have DJ B-syde providing the tunes for the day. That basically means he will save you having to play all your systems at 180dB to compete with each other all day.

7. Sales.
Last but not least (we hope) and in what can only be described as a shameless plug for ourselves; of course we’ll be offering big discounts on any products ordered on the day so feel free to spoil yourself rotten in preparation for the tax return season.

So there you have it; fine print out of the way. Come one, come all - we’ll see you here on Saturday 25th! Posted Image

And its on, I thought it would be a good idea to catch up with Rick and Gozza and meet at Marty's to annoy him, now looked what happened. Marty has turned into a big day out with a great charity and lots of fun. Top work Marty. I'll be there with the beetle and bells on.

Why do people have to use the "with bells on"... makes me consider finding my Jester hat - yes... I could actually have bells on. LOL

In any case, I plan to be there.
