Hi,
just wondering if any of you experts out there can help me please? I just bought a brand new holden series II cruze with bluetooth option. The dealer is a real jerk and took three days to install it as they had no idea what they were doing and had to keep ringing holden all the time. I leave in a rural area, so unfortunately I am stuck with these guys. Anyway, the finally got it all in and working, but now whenever it is activated there is static coming from the speakers. All the entertainment system works perfectly - so it is not that. when the phone rings, or you make a call, it works, but the static coming over the top is unbearable ! Any ideas what they might have done wrong?
I have an Iphone 4, with the latest software and we have tried a nokia phone too - so it is not the phone. Given they have never installed one before, I am sure that they have stuffed up something?
thanks in advance.

It sounds pretty clear to me (pardon the pun) that they have stuffed something up. It is almost impossible to diagnose something like that over the internet though.
My suggestion is to bypass the local dealer at this stage and take your complaint up with Holden centrally. I have heard they are fairly good at kicking the right people and sending out a professional to get the job fixed.

thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I rang holden customer service and they were as useless as tits on a bull. She told me I had to go through the dealer - but she did say she would ring them. That was a week ago nearly. I went to the dealer today and told them to get the bloody thing fixed or I was going to consumer affairs. They told me Holden ask them to test the bluetooth without the motor running - so just turn on the ignition and test blue tooth. When i asked him just how did he think he was going to do that - given that the car is KEYLESS ignition - he shrugged his shoulders? He then told me he would get a whole new module in. I also notice that the blue tooth light and 'off hook' icon in the Display unit do NOT come on when bluetooth is activated -so yes, I agree, they have stuffed something up and I reckon not connected it properly.
It is just a shame I am in a rural area as there are no other holden dealers within 100 kms of me.

Hold the start button for 7 seconds foot off clutch. Bingo! Ignition is on. If they didn't know that i'm not surprised your bluetooth isn't working correctly.

I hope you did'nt pay for it, if you did get the to take it out and give you a refund, I would'nt stuff around with it yourself as they will blame beakages on you and not cover it under warranty.
Then buy yourself a BEEWI BBA100. I picked up my SRI-V last monday and the device works a treat.
Currently I'm running an extension lead to get it out of the console, but to make it an alsmost seamless install, I'm going to get a micro acessories power adaptor like a Griffin and run it from under the hand brake and tap into the aux under the console. I ordered a few in case my mates wanted one. It also streams audio, which the basic GMH model does'nt. Let me know if your interested in one.
The link to the manual is below describes how it works.
