~MEA SA Finals Road Trip~



Proposed departure date from Adelaide on Friday the 28th of October

As you are all aware, the MEASQ National Finals are fast approaching!

The Finals are being held in Ballarat, [Victoria] this year.

We are currently organizing group accommodation rates for entrants on the Saturday night, after the presentations.

What we need to know, is who is likely to be staying the Friday night beforehand?

The Finals will be on Saturday 29th October, starting from 2:00pm
All entrants will be required to have arrived, checked-in and setup by 1:00pm




Ok guys well the purpose of this thread is for South Australian Members to get together and organise as a group so that we can make plans for the MEA SA members to drive to MEA SQ finals together as a group.

Ill update this post with information as things change and plans are finalised.

If any South Australia member has any questions about finals and this proposed trip ask in this thread and we will get answers up for you all.

The current proposed plan is to leave on Friday the 28th of October and drive up as a group departing Adelaide in the morning and arriving late afternoon. The competition is Saturday afternoon which allows for a lazy Saturday morning with a group breakfast and some last minute tuning. The competition is on the Saturday afternoon (29th October). The plan is to stay Saturday night then return to Adelaide on Sunday.

Finals are a great chance for people to meet guys from other states that we might not normally see during the year even if we trip to Victorian rounds.

I know for a fact that Marc has put it at Ballarat, west of Melbourne, to help us SA guys get to finals. So let's take the opportunity! Last year they were right up in NSW and who knows, next year they might be in QLD.

A great chance to go on a decent road trip and meet / catch up with a heap of forum members.

If you're not driving / entering, there's always the option of tagging along in someone elses' car.

Not only that but its the opportunity to see some beautifully put together cars and have a listen to some cars that are examples of the high levels of audio quality that can be achieved in car audio

i booked these days off last week so il definatly make the trip, not sure about other team vandersexx members though, should be an awesome weekend

I should be able to get the whole week off, so once we are done in Ballarat if the missus can get time off we will be heading into Melbourne for a while.

If I can make a suggestion for all you guys, concerning accommodation at Ballarat..

The motel has "family rooms" that can sleep 6 or 7 depending on which room.
Is it worth you guys sharing one room and splitting the costs?
Details of costs and how to book will be made available next week, so maybe you guys can discuss the idea over the next few days?

The intention is to book the entire motel (everybody will make their own booking) so we can close the carpark for the weekend and have all cars in situ early Saturday morning.
Given that case, and I had noticed bobo saying he was looking to sleep on his car, I don't think the motel will agree with that!

Ok guys, im defiantly in for this.

But as per what Mark has stated we have until the 19th of August to make bookings, and bookings open today and will fill up fast.

So are we going to be making a group booking?

I'm down with the group booking, though we have to decide whether it's gonig to be for the 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) or just the Saturday? 'm thinking I might make it solo and jump in someones car for the ride up there and back (happy to give petrol money) as the Calais will have no audioz and I don't trust the Gayzer to make the trip. Not too sure Kia will come as even I'll admit the idea of a weekend SQ sausage fest (mostly) doesn't sound to appealing for a female. Also, bookings haven't opened yet have they?<STRONG> Edit: Yes they have apparently, so who's up for it? Can we get the amount of people for a family room??</STRONG>

Yep Kane bookings are open, i will be making the trip up with Sam (If she can get time off from work) either way we should be staying Sat night aswell, then we'll head to Melbourne early Sunday morning.

So heres hoping i will need room for 2 people, i dont mind a group room either.
