Hi there, need some advise from those who know about this and had experience in it. I had some Carbon Fiber bit that are done in Gel Clear Coat which I have some problem with it. The question is if I sand down the gel coat to a certain level can I use epoxy clear coat on top of it??? Will they bond well together??? Thanks in advance.

Too many variables...
What was the original clear coat? How old is it? There could still be active agents on it, spesh on genuine carbon fibre.

You may need to consult a pro...

Hi Chris, the original clear coat is gel coat. It is my Vorstenier carbon fiber hood. I believe it is manufacture within the past 6 months. The gel coat on it is very thin, just sitting very little over the carbon fiber material and it gave a orange peel wavy dull effect, which I don't like it. I am planning to redo it in epoxy clear coat and I want it to shine like a liquid glass, just like the rest of my carbon fiber parts. Thank you,
