i think it's gone more to just rants in general... being that it's summer and all the idiots who think they can drive are now out on the roads, just means more motorists are getting p*ssed at their antics... lol

and on the subject of rants/venting...

you know what i hate?

drug f**ked losers...

yup, and why? every time i seem to have any kind of altercation or anything, it seems to be at the hands of these idiots... you all know the type, the shirtless guys down at your local centerlink complaining about their payments getting cut off because they "only" missed a couple of appointments... half the time with their kids there with them being completely ignored and causing issues... the same guys you see sitting shirtless (again) out the front of macca's without a car, or if they do happen to own one it's usually a beat up VN, sitting out the front with a slab of VB, heckling the cars in drive thru, leaving empty's on the ground, and mess all over the place....

today i was leaving my local autobarn, sitting at the lights with all the cars leaving with the green light, the car infront of me stops at the light, while it's still green, after a couple of seconds i give a quick toot on the horn in a "look at the lights" kinda way... to which i get back a finger out the window... ok cool, your a douche who needs to get all defensive because they clearly couldn't see the light was still green, but after that the decision was obviously made deep down within their small, drug addled mind that they would then chase me the length of the freeway and continually try and run me off the road while throwing the rubbish that filled their girlfriends sh*tbox green daewoo nubira at my car... clearly this is the rational reaction to being beeped at a set of lights because you were in the wrong... hmmm...

needless to say i'm usually a very law abiding citizen, but in this case my V8 caprice had MUCH longer legs than his nubira, even tho his girlfriend had obviously plastered the car in pink superman stickers and bolt on love heart exhaust tips, along with every other cheap nasty accessory you'll find in every generic automotive aftermarket store catalogues in an attempt to make the car as awesomely fast as possible... and it was a situation i wanted to get out of as quick as possible for obvious reasons...

a couple of regulars will know i was assulted, and left to bleed out in a gutter a couple of years back which resulted in a couple of weeks holiday at frankston hospital and a severe case of PTSS still to this day, and you can guess who the beating was dealt by, thats right, a group of drug f**ked moron losers who had nothing better to do on a saturday night than sit out the front of safeways and throw glass bottles at cars driving past

in all honesty i'd love to see something done about this problem, down here, especially over summer it's like an absolute plague of this scum infesting the peninsula...

i vote every single one of them taken out and shot in public, like the hangings of days past, and i'd be the 1st person to my hand up to pull that trigger...

there's my little rant...

I have a suitable solution to people like these. Unfortunately corporal punishment doesn't sit well with the pansies that run most nations.... :P

I'd like to rant about the unavailability of Discovery 3 (or 4 but they're $100k or more) HSEs with bluetooth and rear air with ebony interior and either Stornoway Grey or Fuji White for $60k or under.

Annnnnd now to get this thread back on topic.

I'd like to offer a big f*** you to the australian public media for running stories yesterday stating that people that hang australian flags from their cars are more likely to be racist. why would you run this story 3 days before Australia Day? how does that sound like a good idea? it's not bad enough that we've already had racially motivated assaults that take place on Australia Day in the past, lets open up that little can of worms again and have it fresh on everybody's mind just in time for Invasion Day this year.

...same reason the media release any other story - to get ppl to read or watch their stuff. Same BS every year anyway, "Should we be a Republic", "Does anyone care about the Monarchy anymore in Australia", "Aussie flags on everyones cars for 6months after Australia Day", "Real meaning of Australia Day", "What % of the population knows the anthem"...They should just call it Bogan Day and be done with it! :lazy:

Deep, DEEP seeded hatred for current affairs shows. Ratings grabbing melodramas. Might as well just meld neighbours and today/tonight together. Its basically the same show anyways.

Also, the peninsula is a nice area. Wasn't aware, as an interstater, that it was heavily infested with dropkicks. Shame really, its a great spot.

Its more just the area from rye to mornington then skip Mt Eliza cause they are all rich toffs then frankghanistan is back full of bogans again. Not all the way along either its pockets. Theres a lot of pockets of commision housing. Further around from Rye basically the whole way around pretty much back to hastings its all expencive living. Many multimillion dollar properties around there.
The peninsula is a funny area - you have some of the most expencive real estate and some of the cheapest.
In one of the local papers they were talking about how the median price for a house in frankston south is $600k but then in the same postcode you can buy in frankston or frankston north for under $200k.
Even in frankston south theres massive variations - Im on the baxter side of frankston south and properties around me are around the $440-500k mark for a 3 bed 2 bath w/DLG - which is pretty average (if not on the low side of average ) for outter suburban living in melbourne. Pop into the frankston highschool zone and its +$150-250k more for a similar (but usually older) property because the frankston high school has such a good reputation. Then travel further around to Olivers hill part of frankston south and even without bay views its $1m+ with bay views you're looking $2.5+ Thats if you can find a property for sale. But skip to the other side of the railway line to frankston north (& "the pines") - carrum downs and $300k is pretty much absolute top $. Most properties being under $240k with some under $200k. Schools are a lot rougher. The "sundowner" hotel has the nickname the "gundowner" for obvious reasons. This is all within a 5km radius. (Not that frankston is the peninsula but its similar area)
When I was looking to buy in mornington it was similar. Prices litterally changed by 40% in as little as a street block because one street was in a commission housing area and one wasnt.

Where Lunchy is talking about, 'dudbud', its an area that is home to a 'relocation' program for sex offenders and ex-cons. From memory it has the highest population of welfare dependants in Victoria. Unfortunately its also a beautiful area of Port Phillip bay a a few bad eggs spoil what is other wise a lovely place.

driving to batemans bay from traralgon and back again the other day. Between Bega and Batemans Bay there is basically no overtaking lanes and every damn person was doing no better than 80! i managed on the few spots to overtake, i got past a few to end up a few kms further to find another group.
Then coming back was the exact same damn issue with some surfie driver in Cann River taking up to 10 mins to fill his car tank and get a drink. I waitied 5 mins while he dawdled filling up then dawdling with choosing a drink. After that a few 'polite' hits on the horn and revving the car 'nicely', he finally paid for his stuff to then sit in his car waiting for his gf to finish on the dunny......YOU CAN MOVE THE DAMN CAR SO OTHERS CAN FILL UP...... By the end of it i gave him the greasy, honking and revving and he has a confused look on his face....stupid damn drivers.

~Sparkles~ is on it here... the peninsula is is an odd place to catagorize, personally i live in what i would consider to be the " happy medium" part of rye, very close to the beach and other amenities, with the general housing prices around the $400k - $500k mark for your standard 3bedroom 1 bath on a nice piece of land, but even just 2-3 blocks away it gets pretty average, but the issue is, to get anywhere, it's hard to avoid the "less nice" areas...

in general the peninsula can look quite deceiving... especially for those who don't spend alot of time down here... the whole peninsula is quite a beautiful place, but as sparkles said, it's just those few that ruin it for everyone...

I stayed down there one time, in Rosebud no less, as my friend's dad owned what used to be a bed and breakfast. It was pretty kick ass. 1 block back from the beach and whatnot.

The whole real estate value thing is a pretty strange one. Understandable, but strange. Especially such a dramatic change.

Edit: Also Ticketmaster are a bunch of stupid jerks. Don't put "VALID FOR ALL TICKETMASTER EVENTS AT ALL TICKETMASTER OUTLETS" on your gift vouchers if its NOT TRUE!!

Driving and somebody comes from the left lane and cuts across....Ok it is a dangerous stunt ( unless you are a taxi driver) . You do get irritated by that action but if the person in front who does that, gives you a 'thank you" you will notice you will cool down pretty quickly. If I don't get thank you, I usually keep an eye on them and cut in front just to give them a taste of their own medicine. Yeah I know, it stupid but I don't do it too often
