A WRX isnt a shopping trolley: those duties are usually left for white kitchen appliances which toyota call their "cars". I don't agree with the ugly comment but each to their own, having owned a WRX (the classic GC8) I can admit it is still my favourite shape however I believe Subaru have finally got the recipe right with the current shape MY11 WRX and STi. The biggest issue with the styling IMO is that Subaru have undersized the wheels on every model by at least 1 inch and need bigger shoes to fill the larger guards.

While I do love Mazaratis, BMW 850, Merc AMG, Porsche Boxter etc I do need to be a bit realistic on the huge running costs associated such as servicing, repairs, insurance etc Keep in mind these cars are generally a lot older with over 100,000km without a good track record of reliability. If I buy something near new (a big + if still has warrantee) I won't need to worry about older car maintenance.

Another car due for release early 2012 is the Toyota FT86. The FT86 is a 2 door 4 seat rwd sports coupe designed and built by joint operations with Subaru, Toyota and Yamaha. It features an aspirated 2.0 litre 4 cyl boxer engine with around 147kw and 1100kg of tare weight. Whilst not fast in a straight line (predicted 6-6.5 sec 0-100) it is built to handle, much like Nissan's 350/370Z.
Estimated price is between 33-45k depending on specification and trim level. Subaru are also due to release their version, the Subaru BRZ in which there is talk of a turbocharged model and maybe even an STi version as pictured below:

The WRX is an impreza, which in my mind is a 'white goods' car.
designed for mums to go shopping in..

kinda like how a commonwhore/failcon are all just taxi's..

you can put on turbo's, change the suspention, put a bodykit on etc.
but its still what it's base off.
its like getting a cat and putting it in a dog suit and say its a dog. its really just a cat in a dog suit.

a real sports car is designed as a sports car from the start, not working around and making comprimises due to its doner car.

the new 86 is pretty sexy, friend has been bombarding me with pictures over the last few days.
QUOTE (RMA @ Feb 6 2010, 01:22 AM) My only regrets are:
Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.

A real sports car could also be driven agressively without worrying about blowing a gearbox on a stock car, if I even had a stock WRX I'd still go for a non syncro first to allow for a bit of extra gear width.

Not sure if this is true but I was told when the lancer is designed the EVO is designed first then they work out how to make it cheaper to sell as the everyday FWD Lancer.

Lexus IS300, go on do it, lovely little car with sweet NA raspiness.
Volvo 2001 S60T5
HU- Blaupunkt Bremen
Front Midbass- CDT ES06
Front Mid- CDT HD2
Front Tweeter- CDT ES010
Amp1- Soundstream Tarantula TR800/5(Runs tweeters mids and sub)
Amp2- Zapco Ref 75.2(Runs front midwoofers)
Nothing good ends in phile.

Revisiting this again as I'm getting closer to actually selling the gts.
Been looking at V36 370gt

3.7 naturally aspirated V6 250kw is powerful, torquey, handles and brakes fantastic. Looks awesome with stock bodyline and stock 19 inch wheels. Terrific interior (especially the beige/workstation) awesome potential for good stereo having factory 10inch 3way front speakers and dual 10 inch IB mounted subs in the shelf. It seems to tick all the boxes
Thoughts?
