iPhones

I been trying to fix my missus iPhone and i feel like i'm living in backwards world..
she changed networks and of course its locked down so cant just change the sim card and be done with it.
jailbroke it, but then still cant change sim cards cause this version you cant do it..
finally got the old network to release it, so now i have to go back to iTunes (ill get onto that one shortly) and it kills it.
worked out how to get into recovery mode, then iTunes sits and hangs for freakin ages "contacting the iPhone software update"
its like having sex wit 12 condoms on.. yeah, you are having sex, but f***ed if you can feel anything!
And come on, for years people bagged out iTunes cause it was crap, now the iPhone is here and everyone just shuts up and deals with it?
am i the only one who hates the idea if being locked into this awful software?
I guess people like being in a padded little phone world where everything is laid out for you and you do everything as Steve Jobs tells you to do in the order and way he wants you to do it..
I shall stick by my theory "iPhones - Smart phones for dumb people"
anyway.. The screen is nice... and the compass comes in handy.
Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.

FFS why doesn't it check that first??
it takes me no time at all to update my phone, i check for a new ROM, download it, go into my ROM manager on my phone, hit update and BAM it installs what ever version i want it too..

If you had just unlocked it from the network in the start none of this would happen.
I plug my phone in my computer to charge and it will let me know if there is an update, then with one click will download and update the phone automatically.
And whats wrong with itunes? I currently use it in my car for all my audio needs and its great. Bit perfect output.
The itunes store is different matter and I agree is crap.

the reason we didnt unlock it from the network was cause she didnt want to contact them to get it unlocked from the network cause the contract hadn't finished (it was only a couple of months into it, long story)
Itunes is just a PITA. its been over an hour now, and its just started downloading the update. (which tells me 37min to go... which i find odd when i can download at 900kb/s - either the server is slow as f***, or i am downloading one massive file!)
i just find itunes slow and horrible to use. i have been using it for years, but there is better out there.
the only reason i still have it on my PC is to sync my ipod with it once every 6 months.
otherwise i use other programs to play tunes.

The iphone update is usually about 600MB, not small I know but it doesn't usually take too long.

I hardly ever use iTunes as I can add music directly via USB 'drag and drop' in Windows Explorer and don't need to update firmware as I'm jailbroken, I just use it to sync/backup my phone now and then. Not that I had any issue with iTunes anyway.
It always seems to be Android fan bois whinging about iPhones

Plug in the usb and away it goes.
I have absolutely no issues at all with itunes or my iphone.
It works, it does what I want, its easy to use.
People who complain about them I find are usually people who want to do things the "old way" all the time. Get with the times iTunes works and its so easy my parents in their mid 50s with SFA computer skills can use it (heck my old man couldnt even turn a PC on 6 years ago).
What I dont get is people bag the iPhone for what it cant do - WTF cant it do that you would want to do with a phone?
I can send an email, recieve emails, make calls, take a pic, send a pic, check the interwebs, send and recieve txt messages. f*** me its a phone! Even better I pay $70 a month and telstra gives me one along with aout a gig and a half of downloads and a metric f*** tonne of phone calls and sms.
Yeah its a bit bigger than I'd like my phone to be - but bloody hell have you seen some of the competitor phones? I swear those bastards are going to have to start coming out with a seperate handset - ring ring "ah f*** gotta lift my briefcase upto my head to take this call"
People get too hung up on what some phones can do as opposed to whats useful and practical in a phone. iPhone does what it should do and does it well and realistically has the best support. Everyone can pick up an iPhone and use it - except for the occasional android spaz.
If you want more from your phone that the iphone can do maybe you dont want a phone as much as you want a tablet.
