Hey everyone, sorry for the late post, but we’ve been mega busy here in the Phatt workshop. But we thought we should take some time out for a quick note on round 7, and of the whole year of MEASQ Vic.

Where to start? A funny thing happened on the way to work today. I saw a priest, a horse and a rabbi walk into a bar... Oops, sorry, wrong story!!

Firstly, big thanks go out to Mark from FCA for hosting the final round of MEASQ Vic. It was such an unpredictable line up on the podium, in all classes (except for SHOW... go David and Mario!!)

Secondly, thanks to everyone who braved the freezing cold. I had icicles on my icicles...

In Intermediate class, with Dan’s car suffering with some electrical gremlins (we here at Phatt believe that Billy was using Voodoo magic all the way from Greece, & it worked!!), first place was up for grabs, and Not Billy (Billy’s brother representing Billy who was in Greece with his voodoo dolls/cars) was able to put Billy Subaru Liberty on the podium (not literally). Big congrats to you Biily. We are you proud of you Billy, your car has evolved so much since the start of the year Billy. You have also learned so much about Esskews, Billy. Once you get your new processor in, Billy, the sky’s the limit... Billy.

PS, we love you Billy,

PPS, we love you too Not Billy...

Michael and his VZ Commodore, even though coming in 6th, has progressively gotten better and better scores throughout the year. Next year, when his new system goes in, he should be a lot more competitive, with a lot more tunabilityism.

PS, thanks for all your 42 inches of manly entertainment!

In Advanced class, it was great to see Alan (Alan! Alan! Alan! Alan! Alan! Alan!) back on the podium. Even though he’s not officially part of Team Phatt, he is one of the founding members of the Phatt Phamily.

It was awesome to see Damo and his VX Wagon taking out 3rd place. All the tuning we did beforehand seemed to have paid off, with some more fine tuning to be done before Nationals. Thanks for all your support throughout the year. It’s dealing with people like Damo that make car audio pleasurable. You are an inspiration to us all. Big Phatt Hugs!!

PS, I’m getting this written in Braille for you tonight... :P

Sara, and her Juice Box... finally, a breakthrough! With a simple change of mids and a 5 minute tune, she got her car closer to the podium then at any round this year. With a couple more changes to be made, next year she should be a lot more competitive. Thanks Sara, for all your support this year, and for showing how to REALLY make an A-frame. Or is it an O-frame? Also, for all of your organisational skills and getting us to all the comps on time...ish. Without you, we’d all be a bit later.

David’s TRD Aurion... What more can be said? He still managed to fine MORE points in Show class, even though he has maxed out at 90 points! David, your enthusiasm and passion have been the driving force behind the show side of Team Phatt. Your TRD Aurion has become a showcase of Phatt Audio Concepts’ fabrication and imagination skills, and it still wows people at every show it attends. It’s incredible if you think back, how much it has changed acoustically, from the first round, even though it was never designed for SQ competition. “Man vs Machine”? You could almost call this car the “Altered Beast”! We hope you still love it as much as we do! Thanks mate.

Jay, it was a great effort, considering your BMW was ESSENTIALLY (his favourite word) a bare shell just hours before the comp. Nothing like leaving things to the last minute, again... Next year, with major changes being made over the next few months, we expect this car to dominate!! Well done Jay. Now, get back to work... the clock is ticking... TICK... TOCK...TICK...TOCK...

Expert class saw Danny and his not-boring Bora taking out first place on count back (hey, a win’s a win). All the extra tuning we did before the competition paid off. We would like to thank Danny for all his help this year tuning our cars. The skills and techniques we’ve shared have helped Team Phatt’s cars advance throughout the year. Also, your car has set the Esskew benchmark within the Team. Trying to tune your car is always so difficult because of the high level of awesomeness. We go in, trying to tune the car better, and end up sitting there for hours just listening to music! Thanks again Danny.

PS, this win was OVERJEW!!

In third place, the Dark Phatt Horse, Sam finally found some of his missing Esskews, giving him a podium finish for the first time this year. He’s changed his system more times this year than he’s changed his underwear, so it’s at least 6 times!! The new system, which was still running in, and only half installed, was only 10 points off the other two, and that was only with a half hour tune. Next year should see some awesome results from this car. Big thanks to Sam for turning up to all the events this year, no matter what stage of the 6 builds your car was in. You really are a leader of the PAC!

And finally, Mario. What can we say? No, really what can we say? Anyone? Anyone at all?

On a serious note, words cannot describe the level of appreciation and respect that the whole of Team Phatt have for you and your kids (including your eldest child, MINTXM), religiously showing up to all the shows, with Christian and Jordan being our little Phascots (Phatt mascots). Your car has changed from being and awesome cruiser with an adequate system, to being a showstopper with a great sounding system, that will only get better in time (if we can find some).

A big thanks goes out to Megan, Ness, & Tess (in alphabetical order), for making the judges lives easier at every comp, and for all the behind the scenes work. It doesn’t go unnoticed.

Another thanks goes out to all the judges. Your feedback has helped make the cars progress throughout the year.

And last, but not least, a super dooper big Phatt thank you goes out to Marc Rushton, just for being you, Marc. You have made car audio in Australia what it is today, a very exciting, pleasurable, enjoyable community. A massive thank you from the bottom of our Phatt hearts.

Keep up the good work, officials and competitors alike. Let’s make next years rounds of MEASQ Vic even better!!

Phatt Out!

PS, Billy.
