Hey guys

I've got a 2007 2door workmate looking to put central locking it. I've got a couple of door latch/motor units from a wreck, does anyone know the wiring set up for these things? Is it a standard motor wiring? I plan to buy a remote locking kit controller and use that to control these locks, will it work?
A wiring diagram or something would be handy, does the service manual include this? I might buy one if it does

thanks

your best bet is just getting a full kit from autobarn, not real pricey and has all the wiring and motors etc

Yes much easier to buy a complete kit. Just remember, the Hilux's have a cable driven locking mechanism and not the conventional steel rod setup which is what your aftermarket central locking kit is designed to work with. You will probably require a "cable clamp" which you can get from Rhino Co. I don't use them myself as I have a differant method.

thanks for the suggestions. I actually avoided buying a kit since I read it's not easy to get a reliable setup due to the cable drive, and using the cable clamp kit can damage the cable locking mechanism.

I think it's possible to use these motors with a conventional remote entry kit, they are only 2 wires each. what could go wrong? (lol)

well I bought a warlock keyless entry kit from jb hifi today. It works with the toyota factory locks, haven't put it in the car yet but tested on the bench. It's going to be a better solution than stuffing around mounting the drivers to the cables
