Hi

I just got given one of these cheap ass Spy alarm.

Now the instruction provided is quite confusing plus I'm just starting to learn the electrical side of cars.

But Im willing to learn and it would be a good experience.

Now I have scanned the included instruction. The car has an aftermarket central locking.

With the 6 Pin harness from the alarm the the Brown and Yellow (Yollow from the diagram) goes to ON and Start
How do I determine which wire is the start wire from the back of the ignition barrel? the ON should have 12v only when the key is on the "ON" position
The purple wire that goes to the airconditioner.... how does that wire to the a/c? not that critical though as I can live with out that option.

Now Im stuck with wiring the alarm to the central locking which wire goes to which? it should be just two wire ...Door Lock/Unluck?

With the engine cut off circuit is that the ignition coil that you have to cut the 12v source and put it on the relay?

Would be so greatfull for anyones input so I can start installing the alarm.

Sorry to be harsh but if your unsure of that much stuff then I probably wouldn't install the alarm yourself! What type of car do you have? The central locking config will vary with the make of the car. The ON wire is the one that gets energised when the key is in the ignition position and stays energised while the car is cranking over. The START wire will only have power when the car is cranking. By air conditioner, they mean the ACC wire, it's a poor translation from Chinese. On the Spy alarms the ACC is powered up after the car has remote started so your radio and fan will turn on.

The engine cut off should be put on the start wire on these alarms despite what it says, otherwise you may get feedback through the cut-off relay, you also need to isolate the IGN input wire with a diode on this alarm or the car won't stay running after the remote start.

There are a few tricks with these alarms and if you hook it up exactly as it says in the wiring diagram then not everything will work correctly.

Thats OK Im keen to learn, trial and error then!
I have started wiring it today and got the 6 pin harness done.

12 pin done as well, wired the flasher to my indicators.

I will wire the cut off using the START wire (same wire on the ignition as the 6 pin yellow wire)

will post back if I encounter any more issues

thanks

Hi guys,

I have installed heaps of these alarms. The on (brown) goes to ignition, the air con wire (purple) goes to 2nd ignition or accessories. The start goes to starter wires (yellow wire).

Again central locking wires depend on the vehicle I will need to know the vehicle.

Make sure you put the white (other smaller harness) needs to go to ignitoin also.

Also if you want the remote start to work you may need a factory immobiliser bypass for vehicles 01-> and some pre 01 models depending.

Kind Regards,
