Crescendo Sonata 4 is now available in Australia. Sonata 4 is a full range class D amplifier that is designed to sound natural . The advantages of class D are obvious: high efficiency green technology, high power in compact size, and its ability to drive speaker with fluctuating impedance. Sonata 4 is rated at 4 x 100 W RMS, all terminals are on the same side, and logo can be rotated every 90 degree. High grades components are used in this amplifier as IC National Semiconductor LM4562 and shielded output coil.

SONATA 4 SPECIFICATION:

1. Amplifier output is:
4 x 100 Watt RMS @ stereo 4 ohm
4 x 100 Watt RMS @ stereo 2 ohm
2 x 300 Watt RMS @ bridged 4 ohm
2 x 300 Watt RMS @ bridged 2 ohm
2. Efficiency is 73%.
3. Size is 272 mm (length) x 147 mm (width) x 49 mm (height).
4. Weight is 2.5 kilograms.
5. National Semiconductor LM4562 audio op-amp at pre-amplifier stage. Its specification is higher than Burr Brown OPA 2134 (50 Mhz bandwidth for LM4562 versus 8 Mhz bandwidth for OPA 2134).
6. Shielded coil at output stage for more focus magnetic flux and less eddy-current.
7. Complete protection against wrong battery connection, DC offset output, speaker cable short circuit, and over-heat.

SONATA 4 FEATURE:

1. Green class D technology with very high efficiency. Its maximum current draw is only 40 Amperes and in most cases user won't need to change battery or alternator. The power cable size needed is 8 AWG.

2. Class D full range amplifier design that is not an expansion from limited bandwidth class D design. The result is natural sound

3. As typical all class D amplifier, Sonata 4 has the ability to drive speaker with fluctuating impedance.

4. Compact size for easy installation and placement

5. Weight is 2.5kgs.

6. Casing is made from aluminium extrude for sturdy construction, less distortion, and maximum heat dissipation. Finishing is bronze color anodized.

7. All terminals are on the same side for easier and tidier wiring. Amplifier gains are on the other side to make it is easier to reach for quick adjustment.

8. Speaker and power terminals are "screw in" type for maximum contact and hassle-free connection.

9. RCA terminals are "chassis" type for sturdy connection and furthermore to avoid RCA body touching amplifier body.

10. Logo can be rotated every 90 degree for maximum flexibility. In this way, Sonata 4 can be installed upside down and all we need is to rotate the logo.

are those power specs accurate? if it can run at 2 ohm bridged that suggests each channel is 1ohm stable?
what sort of power would it make at 8ohm bridged?

and how much?

looks nice, I like the bronze heatsink

Unless the price list has changed since may- $699 RRP

I'm not sure about the bronze heatsink yet, I'll see if it grows on me ;)

Yep they are accurate, the amp is 2 ohm stable.

at 8 ohm it will be 150W - 200W RMS bridged. I can request the exact figure from the manufacturer if you wish. Feel free to send me an email at enquiry@ozbliss.com and I'll reply you as soon as I hear back from the manufacturer.

RRP is $699 as SSSpoosah mentioned above.

Cheers

Adhika, so they are 1 ohm per channel stable? Wow, thats impressive if so! :)

in the right car, that would look amazing, its such and amazing colour, but it looks like it could look totally out of place in the wrong car.

Are you confident of those power numbers. I can find this amp online and the listed power specs are approx half what was listed in the OP. Also they are much more inline with what I would expect to see of a well designed amp. The specs listed in this thread for the fact that no mention is made of a smart power supply that controls output based of High/Low current wiring seem very dubious.

Yes I am confident with the numbers. I dont mind if you wanted to test the amp and see the output yourself :)

This amp is genuinely designed by Crescendo team, I personally have seen the process from pcb drawing to case design.

cheers
