I think $150 is pretty good. Your only other options is to learn how to do it yourself, or have an Indian bypass operation.

$150 is a good price, I know plenty of places who would charge more, and not many places who would charge less.

A cheap alarm install is a bit like having bypass surgery on your heart performed by a plumber, because a surgeon is too expensive.

We would charge 200 for that sort of job at work.
Anything under 150 is going to be a crap install.
The less time effort taken in a alarm install just makes it quicker to bypass.

Also cheaper the install, there is likely to be some short cuts made which will = a crap install, easier to find and more likely the chance of false alarms.

Pay the money and get it done right the first time

I can only echo what has been said above.

Of course, we all like to keep more money in our pocket and it's in our nature to try and get the best deal, however I think you are underestimating the importance of a quality installation on a car alarm.
As outlined above, car alarm is typically only as good as the installation. Above that, do you really want it false alarming at 3am in the middle of winter, or annoying people working in the day while parked at work etc?

$150 is good - almost too cheap in itself. Give some consideration to whether you really want to skimp on the installation :)

Finally - deal with any of the stores listed here for a quality installation at competitive rates for quality installation: http://www.mobileele...list_retailers/

Alarms really are one of those things that are only as good as the installation.

I'd actually say 80% of alarm problems are due to the install not the alarm.

I still worry at $150 that is still really cheap, I would expect to do it properly at least 3-4 hours, at average of $80 an hour install rates, that seems cheap.

At least get a quote from any of the above and then you won't have to worry if it's installed properly.
No- there is no real way to tell until it starts playing up.
