700 watts rated isn't an overly low amount of power.

Doug and I burped a 150 at 36hz off a clamped 1700w and one dead woofer.
As Big V said, 1500w is not really low power...
*Awaits old school guys who had AudioControl meter and Cheater amps*
EDIT: disclaimer: scores set at a certain Easternats event dont actually count

as far as i'm concerned thats an AWESOME score off <300rms...
700rms really is plenty of power, and 1500rms+ is a tonne...

138.3 from 300 rms and 2 jl 15w0-8 sealed with music
Mad Ras(spelling?) on here, was doing 141's off 2x clarion 15"s and a jaycar 4x 100rms 4ch in his yellow pulsar, running 2ohm off a pair of the channels, which i believe is around 150rms per woofer...
.
I find both of these very impressive

about the best part was the overal simplicity of madd_rass's install... it was very much what i would consider an "amature" install, not in a bad way, but you can tell when someone knows what they're doing, and when someone has just had a red hot go at it! and this was very much the latter, port was almost non existand, maybe 20mm wide, and i'm not even sure how long it was, i seem to think it was just the thickness of the mdf baffle....

(thats the port between the subs there)
i'm hoping Jason doesn't take this the wrong way, simply put i was VERY impressed with it, there was no real logical reason why it would work, but it did, and it got loud, and low too...doing the 141 at around 40hz...

11hz low!!!!
should of mentioned i am running 2 x 12" kenwood 3009 on jl audio g1700 at 2ohm.the car mazda 121 hatch like festiva.the box i made was on the small side, just under 110ltrs.(subs up ports up) and facing the hatch.i know the subs and amp are not on the great side.i was happy to start of with a base line of 138 music and 141 burp.the car itself i have stuffed the rear qtrs with blocks of foam and i have removed the roof lining and resealed the 3 braces.i also added another 5 more braces to the roof.today l added more blocks to the tailgate.i removed the inside trim from the tailgate and made an mdf panel in its place.noticed the front doors have more flex in them when i played music.i would like to add dynomat but really cant afford it.if you tap on the qtrs and tailgate they do sound solid.next will be to do the doors , i was thinking of removing the door trim and put a panel of mdf.i have my first comp this weekend and would like to get a better score.does anyone have any tricks to modify the door glass rubber seal as the glass rattles when playing music.do you think that im dreaming to try to achieve such high numbers with low quality stuff?thanks again jas.
I think I know who you are now... Your the fella with the White 121 Shades at GCCS Southport on the weekend just gone?? If so, who said your box was on the small side?? Almost looked too big for the power you're running...
As a baseline, I was pulling 138.3dB on music at 55hz off 600watts and 1 12inch Pioneer, in a Sedan...

My little mazda did a 145.0 @ 25hz off 1200rms, 146.4 @ peak which was 39hz. Works out to 150rms per woofer.
<<< Was a SQ install, setup for flat response.
