Well, its nearly that time of year again, and I thought what better way to celebrate then have some kind of Dinner/Function/Catch up/Party

So without further ado, here are some proposed plans. Most of it is up in the air and this thread can be used to discuss it.

Please no off topic posts, as that is what the Social and Off Topic thread is for.

Location: My Crackden [3 minutes South East of CBD, more details closer to event, if it happens]
OR
Some other yet to be determined location.

When: Sometime mid-late December, most likely a Saturday night?

Details: Im suggesting something along the lines of people bring either a pre-determined [as determined/volunteered to do by this thread] Or possibly a salads/desserts like scenario and everyone chips in for some meat + bread or something along those lines.

What to wear, who to bring and other such things not covered by the details section: Im suggesting casual dress, or if you wish to use this as the start to an evening in the city, dress like that, alternatively, you could always get changed here.
Bring your significant other if you have one.
People are most welcome to bring media storage devices/cds if they so wish to listen to such things on the night. If not, it can always be my itunes on random or something :P
Anyone planning on having a heavy one and staying the night, is welcome to, just bring your bedding along, set it up somewhere, or just pass out on a couch

Anything not covered by the last section: Now I dont have the largest house, and so space/chairs are limited. People are encouraged to bring deck chairs, fold out tables, etc. Just let the thread know so we can work out what is going on. I have couches to seat 4-6 and about 8 chairs scattered in various places around the house. It will probably be a warm night, so it may well move outside for the most part of the evening. BYO drinks, some snacks, but they may be provided, depending on how it all goes and whether I have to acquire meat first or not.

I cannot think of anymore details at this stage, but will edit this first post as new things come to light. Any ideas/suggestions are welcome, as are dates/times/etc. 6:30 meet would suit me, so I have time to get changed after work.
Also, any suggestions of other places to hold this are also welcome, I am just offering 'my' 'house' up for such a gathering.

Could be a great way to wrap up the year for MEASA, the social car audio state encouraging innovation. Alternatively, may not even go ahead, hence the creation of this thread, I know its unusual for an event such as this to have a large turn out, seeing as it hasnt been posted up on the evening of the event, but thought I had better give everyone some warning :)

I think it would be best to do this at a public venue of some sort, ie restaurant / bistro, but I'm all for the idea.

You're voting for pub meal over BBQ Callum?

I'm keen. Preferrably after the 19th or before the 7th of december because otherwise i'll likely be in different states.

I'd think somewhere fairly good value would be good. Something like Fresh Choice down at Marion, or the Watermark at the bay, or something like that? Gorge ourselves on food and be sociable and such?

Eh, stay away from Fresh Choice, has gone way down hill in the last couple of years... Watermark is better :)

Seconded, - as has Charlies diner IMO.

....Do we really want food that old senile people have been breathing their 80year old nursing home germs on and grotty little kids have been picking at?

Ok, maybe thats taking it too far...but still :)

It has been put to the table that we could use a warehouse in Seaford for the function. Once more, everyone brings a platter, alternatively BBQ, or the usual thing of a $hite load of pizza.
Can make plenty of noise, have a bit of fun..

Guys i think this is heading in the wrong direction.

I think it would be best to have a meet somewhere for dinner that is public (ie a pub somewhere) more central to make if fair for members from the North and the South. Somewhere like the Walkers Arms just out of the city.

I think this would be a great opportunity to get everyone together for some end of year presentations and a discussion.
