Also, the "distance" you input, being translated into ms internally, is then incorrect as soon as the temperature changes in the car.

If you are going to worry about cabin temperature affecting the speed of sound ... then both systems will be incorrect regardless if you input in ms or distance ... as the output is still the same with both systems ... ms delay.

It's just a lot easier to set with distance not having to worry about reference points of furthest speakers :)

I'm still not used to using cm with the p99...would much rather use ms as I have previously with Alpine and Eclipse.

I actually did a quick excel sheet on this last week to cross reference for a basic set-up when I put the P99 in.

I'm lucky the DEQX lets you choose either cm or ms. I think any of these computer based processors should let you have the option. Does anyone know if the alpine h800 has this option when using the pc interface?

hmm from memory i am pretty sure you can chose either, but cannot confirm for sure without checking the software

H701 is ms only,

H800 can choose either ms or cm/inch via the software.
