What an event it was - easily the biggest in terms of both entrant and spectator numbers - we had over 25 competitors come through on the day (the scores below represent the ones that hung around for the knockout rounds) - hundreds of people came through to the CARnival and many of them hung around to check out the Bass Battle competition. This particular event showed me the power that quality marketing can have on entrant numbers, as well as the fact that Car Audio competitions can still be a massive drawcard for spectators to hang around at a show, especially at smaller show n shine events like this one. Autobarn were super-enthusiastic about hosting an event and, once they agreed to hold a Soundoff they treated it like the drawcard it was and did not push us away from the action like so many big shows have treated Audio comps in the past. It was my pleasure to be involved in the event and I know they are already in talks about having us on board again for their 10 year anniversary show next year too.

Firstly a massive thankyou to the following people for helping out with setup and/or throughout the night: John, Bobo, Kane, Doug, Ryan, James and all the other guys who helped out, with the amount of competitors and spectators on the night, I seriously needed help at this event and it would not have gone by anywhere near as well without all your help people. I know I didn't go into the details too much in the thankyou speech but you guys were instrumental in this event and so many others successful events we've run as a car audio club.

Next, a big thanks goes to Tony from Option Audio, Adam from Vibe and Marc Rushton for their industry support for the event and partnering with us to make the event as great as it was.

A couple of Photo's from the event - If you have any photo's from the event please upload them, there was heaps of stuff going on but i've only gotten some photo's from the Bass Battle side of things.. More Bass Battle photo's are still needed!!

Team Big on their first ever run

This dude was my favourite competitor of the night - Daniel Maglier - showed up early with wife and little ones in tow, took off before bracket racing was about to begin so he could drop the kids off at home with a sitter, then came back with his wife for the brackets - his wife was sitting in the car all night boppin away and loving the stereo action, ultimately knocked out by Jai in the final round but definetely a competitor who was having a good time on the night.

Me and Bobo catching a break before the evening finals began - at this point my TL shat itself and Marvey came to the rescue with his one, saved arze in a major way LOL

Had a great night besides one person proving yet again why I don't think people should be allowed to drink in public

Very much looking forward to next year and seeing some cars do crazy big numbers, and maybe a couple of cracked windscreens?

I had my camera there and my video camera too but to be honest I was to busy spectating the "CARnival" to think about taking any shots lol

Dean.

What an awesome night, i didnt get to see much of it after finishing my last job of the day literally 5 minutes before the Bass Battle begun lol, but from the entries desk it was quite a show! definatly the biggest car audio event SA has seen in a long time which is a big credit to all the work Sorin and Mark (the Autobarn store manger responsible for the show) have put into it over the last few months

i didnt have much luck in the actuall sound off with the MT recone not quite going to plan but the US Audio 15" i bought on the morning of the show and installed after work took quite a beating lol, im sure there will be much bigger numbers out of this beast than 131.8 in the future... big thanks must go to jamie too for lending me one of his IXLs for the finals despite it having numerous knife holes in the cone :fool:

i didnt have a chance to think let alone take photos lol so im keen to see what everyone else has!

Had so much fun. I thought for so long that db comps were for jerkoff ulehs but now i'm sold. I'm also kinda intrigued by all the maths and physics that go into doing it properly.

Great job Sorin!!
