We've built the new rules based on our understanding of the competitor base. There’ve been a couple of big changes made here, but ultimately we think it's a great step towards a format that can truly take off nationally in the next couple of years.

Please try and keep this thread as clean as possible as it will most likely be the thread we point people to for clarification on the format rules.

Classes for 2012 season:
- Novice
- Intermediate
- Advanced
- Advanced Modified
- Expert SPL
- Expert GP



Novice:
Category aimed at Total Novices + Informed Beginnners
-Any vehicle type
-Music only
-Woofers – 1x12”, 2x10”, 3x8”
-Power – 1500wrms power at lowest rated impedance of the amplifier (no big amps running high impedances)
-Voltage – Car must be switched off during runs
-Box and other Audio components must remain behind the rear seat backrest (amplifiers mounted under front seats is ok)
-All seats must be secured in their OEM location during runs, but can be folded
-Must be able to demonstrate that the seats can be folded back up into their factory positions without fouling part of the sub/s or sub box/s
-PEAK HOLD STLYE with qualifiers and eliminations


Intermediate:
Category aimed at Total Novices + Informed Beginners with higher cone area
-Any vehicle type
-Music only
-Woofers – 2x15”, 3x12”, 4x10”
-Power – 1500wrms power at lowest rated impedance
-Voltage – Car must be switched off during runs
-Box and other Audio components must remain behind the rear seat backrest (amplifiers mounted under front seats is ok)
-All seats must be secured in their OEM location during runs, but can be folded
-Must be able to demonstrate that the seats can be folded back up into their factory positions without fouling part of the sub/s or sub box/s
-PEAK HOLD STLYE with qualifiers and eliminations


Advanced:
Category aimed at Enthusiasts
-All cars
-Any media
-Unltd Batteries
-Unltd Amps
-Unltd Subs
-Vehicle may be running (judges discretion applies on OHS matters)
-No voltage limit
-Box and other Audio components must remain behind the rear seat backrest (amplifiers mounted under front seats is ok)
-All seats must be secured in their OEM location during runs, but can be folded
-Must be able to demonstrate that the seats can be folded back up into their factory positions without fouling part of the sub/s or sub box/s
-If a hatch/wagon, must be below tailgate window line
-No structural metal may be removed to accommodate audio system upgrades. Factory interior skins must remain in place. Judges discretion applies on a case-by-case basis where an issue is flagged.
-PEAK HOLD STLYE with qualifiers and eliminations


Advanced Modified:
Category aimed at Enthusiasts + coupes, commercial and other vehicles where the sub box extends up to the front row of seats
-All cars
-Any media
-Unltd Batteries
-Unltd Amps
-Unltd Subs
-Vehicle may be running (judges discretion applies on OHS matters)
-No voltage limit

-Box must remain behind the B-pillar and below tailgate/rear window line
-Front seats must be secured in their OEM location during runs, but can be folded
-Must be below tailgate/rear window line
-No structural metal may be removed/modified to accommodate audio system upgrades. Factory interior skins must remain in place - Judges discretion applies on a case-by-case basis where an issue is flagged – this includes welding and floor cutting.
-PEAK HOLD STLYE with qualifiers and eliminations


Expert SPL:
Category aimed at Experts and Industry Professionals
-All cars
-Any media
-Unltd Batteries
-Unltd Amps
-Unltd Subs
-Vehicle may be running (judges discretion applies on OHS matters)
-No voltage limit
-Box must remain behind B-pillar and pass door-jamb string test
-Structural metal may be removed to accommodate audio system upgrades.
-PEAK HOLD STLYE with qualifiers and eliminations


Expert GP:
Category aimed at Experts and Industry Professionals
-All cars
-Music only – must be musical and music must be playing for the whole 30 seconds
-Unltd Batteries
-Unltd Amps
-Unltd Subs

-Vehicle may be running (judges discretion applies on OHS matters)
-No voltage limit
-Box must remain behind B-pillar and pass door-jamb string test
-Structural metal may be removed to accommodate audio system upgrades.
-PEAK HOLD STLYE with qualifiers and eliminations
