Hey all havent posted much lately ive been flat out at uni, but basically now that im on holidays im super keen to finalize my install in my falcon.. anywho i have little box design experience and dont understand modeling boxes and all the technical stuff so im hoping that one of you experienced box designers can help me with an awesome box design :)

gear is 2 DD3510's running off a DDs2 amp (1200wrms per sub) its going in a bf xr6 in between the wheel wells so space is pretty tight, max dimensions are 850w x 310h x 600d. Current box is pretty much off straight off DD reccomendations and have had some ok scores but i know theres so much more left in them. Id like it tuned in mid 30hz region if possible. If anyone is willing to seriously take some time and help me il be more than willing to pay for their services.

Thanks guys :)

Consider a miniwall IMO. Measured up a mean box for a BA/BF once, but the low parcel shelf, plus the high boot space didn't leave a lotta room for a big box, and having plenty of space for bass to travel freely into the cabin.

Measure up the space between the parcel shelf, If i recall, it's only about 26cm high, just big enough to fit a tend under.

Coupled with your existing space, it may or may not be big enough to do a 6th order in.

yeah 310 is the max height, if possible id just like a slot ported box just because as you said theirs very little room with the amp and what not in the back..

Still tyring to sketch it up, taking too long in google sketchup (novice user).

Got two designs roughed out on paper, one for mini-wall, one for a regular drop in box, what you gonna use?

you got it!! basically built as a walled car, except it's all in the boot, you can obviously go ported, sealed or bandpass, no real rules there, just an enclosure sealed up the the opening of the trunk...

OK, yeah the box comes a little small, especially when designing for DD's, they want the port area to be 16 inches per cube, you gotta make the boxes huge.

Make the port 90mm wide, 500mm (501 if you wanna be exact). There should be a 45mm gap between each port end, and the back of the box.

Double layer the front baffle, of course use 18mm for the box. If you want, add in a sheet of 18mm in the exact center of the port, and round the port ends and corner.
